according to yesterday’s NY Post...
April 22, 2011: Reports “black male, 7 to 9 years old with skinny build, “ walking around the neighborhood.
Aug 3, 2011: Calls in a black male he “believes is inolved in recent burglaries in the neighborhood.”
Aug 6, 2011: Fingers two black teens he thinks “have been burglarizing homes in this area.
Oct 1, 2011: Reports two black males, approximately 20 to 30 years old, whom he does not recognize. He says he’s “concerned due to recent burglaries in the area.”
Feb 2, 2012: Drops dime on a black male because it is “unknown what he is doing.”
Maybe if blacks didn’t commit the most crimes of any other race(while only being 13% of the population) he wouldnt be suspect. Now is that racist or using logic and facts? If facts is racism then this country is already doomed.
The twitter feed for the neighborhood shows just the week before the shooting the Neighborhood Watch solved four burglaries. Those calls you listed weren’t false reports.
Meanwhile, Treyvon was a gold tooth sporting tattoo wearing alleged weed dealing gang member. Do some research before believing the NY Times.
Wendy Dorival is Sanford’s volunteer coordinator for the Police Department. She helped train Zimmerman.
She stated that those involved in neighborhood-watch programs are supposed to be “the eyes and ears” for the police, “not a vigilante.”
Specifically, she said, members “are not supposed to confront anyone. We get paid to get into harm’s way. You don’t do that. You just call them from the safety of your home or your vehicle.”
She added that carrying and using a gun on patrol violates protocols.
That's
the point
of
Neighborhood
Watch
So ?
Would prolly be best to call your NW guy/gal and tell 'em not to worry about your place.
Better yet (ie with more 'sensitivity'), ask that they only worry about your place if it's being cased by melanin-challenged individuals.
Problem solved, yes ?
It doesn’t seem to be true that Zimmerman was suspicious of the 7-9 year old black child. The police report shows it was a safety call. An article by Matthew DeLuca of the Daily Beast misreported it, though.
The article actually links to the police reports about Zimmerman’s calls, and it says right in that report that Zimmerman called because the boy was walking alone along a busy street and Zimmerman was concerned for his welfare. The Daily Beast article, though, says that there is no indication in the police report why Zimmerman found the boy suspicious. Since why Zimmerman called is right there in the report, it’s hard to believe that the reporter missed it. I think myself that Zimmerman acted recklessly, and possibly Trayvon thought he was after him, but there also seems to be a rush to judgment going on.
