With a single punch, Trayvon Martin decked the Neighborhood Watch volunteer who eventually shot and killed the unarmed 17-year-old, then Trayvon climbed on top of George Zimmerman and slammed his head into the sidewalk several times, leaving him bloody and battered, authorities have revealed to the Orlando Sentinel.
That is the account Zimmerman gave police, and much of it has been corroborated by witnesses, authorities say.
Zimmerman has not spoken publicly about what happened, but that night, Feb. 26, and in later meetings he described and re-enacted for police what he says happened.
In his version of events, he had turned around and was walking back to his SUV when Trayvon approached him from behind, the two exchanged words then Trayvon punched him in the nose, sending him to the ground, and began beating him.

Zimmerman sat on Trayvon's dead body until the cops got there. There's video of that but never mind. Zimmerman had some things going on in his mind that led him to be overzealous. An HOA "guest" is dead. They will be sued. Hope they go bankrupt and some sleazy bank buys the whole complex. I know what HOAs can and cannot do. Shooting people while volunteering is a can't. This is a big civil deal too.
Really? What do you expect a Neighborhood Watch volunteer to do...watch someone who obviously is not from the area from his car, then quit watching if he is no longer visible from the vehicle?
That sorta defeats the concept of the program, does it not?
Okay, so its not a law just a totally unenforceable policy suggestion. I thought maybe there was some law in FL regarding watch groups that I was unaware of.
There is a law that doesn't get my coverage. If a minor even PERCEIVES fear from an adult, that is against the law. The minor can even pretend that an adult scared them and it's against the law. I hate PC crap but minors have rights beyond what most people are aware of.
A dog without a leash is different than a minor walking fast in the rain. You are comparing a young man to a dog. LOL Freepers, gotta luv 'em.

Agreed. Remember when Reverend Jesse, Al, etc. say we need a dialogue, really they mean monologue. You sit there nice and quiet while they explore 300 years of racial oppression and pin it all on you.
However, the Stand Your Ground defense does not apply. As much as I’m no fan of Jeb Bush, he signed the SYG law and Jeb said, that Trayvon’s death was not SYG. Jeb Bush signed the darn bill into law! The law is not about chasing someone down and when they defend themselves and end up dead, it’s their own fault. Trayvon’s Skittles didn’t kill him. Zim’s gun did.
I wish Obama would elaborate again on why we all need to do some “soul searching.”
I'm almost 5-9. Years ago I played ping-pong with a friend of mine who was about 6-3. Out of more than two-hundred games, I probably won 5. I realized what an advantage his size was when I noticed that he seldom had to move his feet during the game.
I would be crazy to permit myself to fight with a six-foot tall high-school football player. He would be able to bust my nose while I was still in the next county.
Supposedly, Martin was on the phone with his girlfriend up to the point where the confrontation occurred. She reportedly said words were exchanged with somebody just before the call dropped, at 1912. The police arrived on scene at 1917, by which time the incident was over, and Martin was already dead.
There's a problem with 1912, however. Zimmerman was still on the phone with the police. His call didn't end until about 191340, and the fight started sometime after that.
So, something is not right. Either the girlfriend is lying, the 1912 time is misreported, or either the cell company's clock or the police's clock was wrong. Cell companies are quite persnickety about keeping their computer clocks accurate to the millisecond. I would hope the Sanford PD keeps theirs accurate to at least the second.
I'd like to see it all laid out for posterity. But, given what we know now, I can't see how a fair jury could convict Zimmerman of anything.
Tampa Bay Times Sunday edition (on line) wrote a long article about the makeup and situation at the Twin Retreats. It was affected by the real estate bust. If you read this keep in mind they’re a liberal paper. Just sayin’. I’m watching a press conference locally and nobody’s talking about taking this to the streets. Al’s collecting 100 dollar bills left and right. All the race pimps are in Florida. They are not front and center though. Thank God they’re just pimpin’. The real work will be done by the DA from Jax.

The criminal court judge is the trier of fact along with a jury.
Sanford police have relatives who have beaten up black kids. Google that. Sanford police chief is now a black guy which was a good way to earn back some trust in the community.
Only wanted to clear up if it was a law or policy that watch group participants were unarmed.
Zimmerman acted stupidly and he wasn’t even DC police. For that, he should be charged with somethin somethin.

Zimmerman had his own domestic violence records. I’m hearing both sides of this. The DA will have her hands full.
