If either was holding the slide shut, there would be evidence to show it, as in damage to that hand.
Zimmerman was said to have a damaged hand, during the discussion about why the chamber didn’t reload. Of course the reports are leaking out in strange ways, so I don’t know if this—or anything else—is true or not. But it sounded reasonable, I thought.
