It's a thing of incredible beauty. I brought my mom for a stay on the grounds there for her first visit. She was thrilled at 75 to see and experience it.
All that plus you stand a pretty good chance of survival...
My uncle started that tradition. He was a long haul trucker for many years and if he’s on the NV, CO borders and within range, he would do it. Park his rig, with his coffee and have his breakfast while the sun peaked slowly over the range.
I don’t know about you, but everyone was quiet when the sun hits your face. Everyone knew to shut up and enjoy the feeling of being alive..(even my talkative GF)
what was that Joe Krahower (sp?) book...”Into Thin Air”....told the story of mulitple climbing expeditions with the richie rich buying access with limited skills...
LOL! I lived in SoFlo for over 20 years and Arizona the past couple. It doesn’t surprise me, I think the folks out here in this part of the country are very courteous compared to the NE and SoFlo where I lived most of my life. The people out here are very encouraging to me for the future of our nation. The only thing I miss from SoFlo is the family, food and somewhat cooler summers.
