Catholic League president Bill Donohue comments on Saturday's "Reason Rally" in Washington, D.C. attended by atheists:
It is impossible for atheists to have a rally without bashing people of faith. They especially loathe Christians, and no group gets them jacked up more than Roman Catholics. Saturday's rally was no exception.
Although atheists claim that people of faith brainwash kids, it is they who are the masters. "Hey Kids," one of the signs read, "It's OkayGOD is PRETEND." Being vulgar comes natural to them: "Religion is Like a Penis," one sign read, "It's OK to have one But it is NOT OK to whip it out in public, shove it in my face, or tell me what to do because you have one...." Then there was the gal who held a sign demanding that adherents of the three monotheistic religions "Get Out of My Panties."
They got specific with signs such as "So many Christians, so few lions." There was a man dressed as Jesus riding an inflatable dinosaur; another man held a large wooden cross with a mask of "The Joker" on top. They really got specific when Australian songwriter Tim Minchin thrilled the crowd with "The Pope Song." Here are some of the lyrics: "I don't give a f*** if calling the pope a motherf***er means You see I don't give a f*** what any other motherf***er believes about Jesus and his motherf***ing mother."
The big draw was Englishman Richard Dawkins. He implored the crowd to "ridicule and show contempt" for people of faith. "Mock them, ridicule them in public," he bellowed. Especially Catholics. Dawkins not only mocked the Eucharist, he advised the crowd to ask Catholics, "Do you really believe...that when a priest blesses a wafer, it turns into the body of Christ?"
Catholics take note: The fact that the atheists always attack us more than any other religious group is a backhanded compliment. They know who the real enemy of hate is, and who they must defeat. They dont have a prayer.
I thought secularists were OK with this kind of behavior at sodomite rallies...
Catholic ping!
“Atheists don’t believe in God. But the Devil does.’’— Bishop Fulton J. Sheen.
Atheists are..... booooooring.
Among other things.
Yes, he and his demons tremble at what they know is their ultimate destiny.
OK. That does it. An hour at the Adoration Chapel praying for Dawkins. Desperate times, desperate measures.
“Catholics take note: The fact that the atheists always attack us more than any other religious group is a backhanded compliment.”
Absolutely right. In fact, I don’t remember any other Christian group, much less religious group, that has a bullseye on its back even close to the Catholics.
Thanks for the compliment atheists! It’s a good feeling to know our names are written in the Book of Life (not that anyone needs your endorsement).
While I am not a Catholic, I hold the Church in the highest regard and am glad that God is guiding the Church and the Pope in these troubled times.
I notice the God-less crowd never goes after Islam. Cowards.
I think you are right. Maybe they fear that muslims will come after them if they did. Interesting point.
Atheists ridicule people who have faith without any proof....but they don’t realize that not believing in God is every bit as much an act of faith as believing in a God.
This lifelong atheist ignores Islam, the religion, and agitates against Islamism, the assertion of Islamic superiority over all things western.
Islamism declared global war against America and western culture at least as far back as the Iranian seizure of the American embassy in Tehran in 1979. I said at the timealong with many of us here today, of coursetrying to negotiate with religious fanatics was the wrong thing to do. I've said that again and again over the years since then. No one wants to hear we're in a world war against an avowed enemy who's entitely glad to fight it one skirmish and one battle at a time over the next couple centuries. It's much simpler to tell ourselves we're in this or that little local war on the ground in Asia. As long as we keep pretending this is everything but a world war, (not to mention letting our masters in Washington, D.C. throw away our rights as fast as they can,) the Islamists will keep winning and we'll keep losing.
If we'd taken action during the Iranian hostage crisis of 1979, the Islamists probably wouldn't have blown up the Marine barracks in Lebanon. If we'd troubled ourselves to win the Gulf War against Iraq, the Islamists probably wouldn't have launched the first attack against the World Trade Center. If we'd obliterated Mecca with one bomb on September 12, 2001, the odds are high nobody would be worrying about Iranian nuclear weapons today. Do you see a pattern?
All that said, some atheists do, indeed, behave badly, especially in front of television cameras. So do some Christians; so do some Muslims; so do some Hindus, et cetera. I ask you not to judge all atheists for the actions of the loudest and most self-important few.
**** There was a man dressed as Jesus riding an inflatable dinosaur; another man held a large wooden cross with a mask of “The Joker” on top.****
If I remember correctly, somewhere around 1900, the Governor of Martinique had an atheist fest, part in which pigs were paraded around town nailed to crosses.
Then in 1902, Mount Pele blew it’s top and wiped out the city. Their sins were filled up.
These people aren’t “atheists”, they’re anti-Christians.
Most likely.
In fact, real atheists probably would have nothing to do with this, they tend to be much more reasonable to deal with, and respectful of others’ beliefs, but these people definitely have a huge axe to grind.
Atheists judge me as a ‘’fool’’ and a ‘’dupe’’ for my beliefs. I judge them the same. There is no such thing as ‘’Islamism’’. Islam is ALL radical and Saracens are all terrorists , in thought and in deed. Nice try at moral relativism, atheist.
....... He [Richard Dawkins] implored the crowd to "ridicule and show contempt" for people of faith.
Hmmmm....bigots speaking at a "reason rally". I'm sure the irony escaped them.

Here's some reason for the atheists:
I don't believe in space aliens or their unidentified spacecraft. I haven't searched every square inch of the universe for these aliens, so I can't rationally say that they don't exist, and there are plenty of folks out there that do believe and some of them are very credible witnesses. That said, I don't deny the possibility of the existence of space aliens or UFOs. I'm just saying that I require a substantial amount of proof for such an incredible claim and that proof has yet to materialize.
The same line of thought can be used for the case for the existence of God. Just because God hasn't revealed himself to you doesn't mean that God doesn't exist--it just means that God hasn't revealed himself to you, period.
I’ve prayed for him. I don’t think it’ll do any good.
My son was accosted by an atheist at his school and he asked them his question:
“If what you say is true and we are no more than food for worms, what does it matter to you that I live a lie and believe in what you think is a fantasy? Why not just let me live in the dream and leave me alone? What difference does it really make?”
So far, he has yet to get an intelligent answer.
This is the same son who, when viewing the entrance to Michael Jackson’s personal theme park, asked “if it is Neverland, why is there a huge floral clock at the entrance?”
Soviet Union:
The League of Militant Atheists, AKA Union of Belligerent Atheists or Society of the Godless
Their slogan:
Struggle against religion is a struggle for socialism

Mock them, ridicule them in public,” he bellowed
Wasting your time. I would have to care about your opinion and since I don’t. Beside I have read the Book and we win in the end.....
All right, you SOBs! I don't want to hear one word of whining or sniveling about how "uncivil" the discourse has become when we start doing the same thing to you. And to homos and transgenders and guys with multiple piercings and ho's with more tattoos than a circus freak. No moral high ground left for you jerks. None.
The gloves are off.
But really, I ask you: does doubting that prayer would do any good for Richard Dawkins reflect lack of faith in him, or lack of faith in Christ?
I suspect praying is the only thing that could help poor Dawkins be even a tiny bit more decent human being, and myself as well.
Atheists=hedonists

I know how to kill atheism in our lifetime. Roll tape, play it back and ask, “Do you really want to be like these losers?” Lather, rinse, repeat. Heck, showing screen-caps of the American Atheists online store alone would do massive damage.
LOL! Yep. and I have a rosary with his name on it, too. My hubby called his rosary his ".638 Slammer." Works for me. Spiritual Warfare calls for weapons.
This Catholic does not. I judge my atheists on a case-by-case basis, but I expect the same courtesy from them, as well. Thanks for your kind comment.
Divine Mercy prayer. Roll out the heavy artillery!
Tip o' the hat to you.
A person who acts in an honest, upright, kind, and decent manner always has my respect.
I don’t know why anyone would want to do this. God is the only way, and He give Grace. Grace through Christ which is what (I) we need~!
Maybe not all of them, but Dawkins is definitely both. He is anti-Christian by the remarks he makes. He is atheist as he believes 100% in "naturalism" and believes that there is absolutley NO God.
In general, atheists are pro-islam and they, like muslims, assert the superiority of islam over all things western. I'm sure you have heard (countless times) from ahteistic and secularist sources of anti-historical propaganda how "the islamic civilization was scientifically more advanced than primitive christian europe" and how "we have to thank muslims for the rebirth of science in the west" and how "the crusades set back the progress of science" and how "muslims invented chemistry and mathematics while europeans were mired in superstion" and how "the crusades was an unprovoked war of aggression against innocent muslims" and how "christians are violent and evil: just look what they did to the poor muslims during the crusades, etc, etc."
They have been saying this over and over and people today mostly believe these denigrations of Christianity and western culture.
So, in short, a vote for atheism is a vote for islam. Atheism is islam's loyal buddy.
“But really, I ask you: does doubting that prayer would do any good for Richard Dawkins reflect lack of faith in him, or lack of faith in Christ?”
It reflects my growing belief that he is such a committed enemy of God and servant of evil that we’d have almost as much effect as praying for the devil himself.
If Jesus didn't want us to love our enemies, He wouldn't have said, "Love your enemies."
And it's interesting if you look at the whole sentence: "But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven." Matt 5:44-45
Love enemies and pray for persecutors, why? It doesn't even guarantee that they'll be converted. It says that it's so YOU may be a child of your Father who is in heaven.
Not only Dawkins' salvation is hanging in the balance here. Ours is, too.
