Sarah Palin says when she heard about Rick’s comment, she said ‘good on ya’ and was glad he called out the liberal leftist media. She also says it reveals good, strong character in Santorum:

But he is no threat to Romney and can’t beat Obama.

Yep, good conservative family values on display there. Besides, he was wrong and looked like a whiny idiot. Apparently he didn’t learn how to confront the media from Newt.

First sign of testosterone that I have seen in Rick... and I hope he lets it flow freely. abc is bashing him as having gone insane so it is working and romney is making fun of him for it so let the dogs of war out Rick... your bombs are on target.

Santorum is a threat to Romney ... in combination with Gingrich.

That’s the key.

Santorum alone won’t stop Romney at this point.

Gingrich alone won’t stop Romney at this point.

Santorum and Gingrich can however, deprive Romney of a first round win at the convention - “winning” a brokered convention.

Which very much can stop Romney.

Gingrich and Santorum, like it or not, are a team.

It’s time for their respective supporters, to stop squabbling and focus on stopping Romney.

I think that’s what Governor Palin is trying to tell us.

When Newt suspends, I expect her to endorse Rick—to stop Romney if this is even possible at this date. The others, Cain, Perry, Bachmann, etc. should all come along. She could be coaxed into doing it before. (No official endorsement, but de-facto endorsement). She got this MSM treatment and she can fully emphathize; just as when Newt when after CNN moderators as well.

conservative98: “But he is no threat to Romney and can’t beat Obama.”

Are you being sarcastic or just trying to hijack a thread? If it’s the latter, what does your perception of Santorum’s electability have to do with whether or not his comments revealed good, strong character?

Pull back on your bias a bit. The Media is lying. He is right. Because you hate him does not change reality. Good for him to call them out. They are the enemy.

Unless and until we get CREDIBLE EVIDENCE that there is a summit meeting between these two (Santorum and Gingrich), during this reflective lull we have right now in a pitched battle against the GOP-e (Country Club Wing), either formally or informally, with or without campaign aides, and that it is mutually agreed that the circumstances call for such a Rick-Newt/Newt-Rick alliance, then I will dismiss it just as rationalization to keep Gingrich in the race as the definitely trailing conservative here--for whatever godsforsaken reason, to split the GOP conservative base and take more votes from Rick, thus throwing the election to Romney in these upcoming states. However if I can be convinced that they truly are coming to such an agreement, I will consider it. I have heard no such thing yet in official or unofficial circles.

Have Newt and Rick met?

If not, I am inclined to reject this out of hand and resume the viewpoint that Newt Gingrich should seriously considering a) suspending, b) endorsing Rick Santorum, c) releasing his delegates to Rick to help in Rick's delegate count, d) campaign for him, and e) ask his super-charged endorsers like Cain and Perry to do the same. Sorry, I think otherwise such an idea, which might have some good tactical aspects to them, just cannot proceed. These guys are both Capitol Hill creatures from way back. OK, time to start talking and forge a deal of some nature somehow? I and many others are all ears. (The Romneybots [screw them] will sure love this thread!)

Thank-you Sarah.

I heard Michelle Bachmann defending him a couple days ago from Jeanine Perio (sp)...on Huckabee.

Jeanine was twisting her mouth into ugly shapes to get Michelle to agree with her about something Pirio wanted to 'gotcha' concerning Santorum.

Michelle was outstanding in deflecting/combating the question.

I know I didn't explain this well, but I bet there's a you tube somewhere.

Did you happen to see O'Reilly last night?....for the first time in my Fox life, if I could have thown a shoe at Brit Hume, I might have.

O'Reilly was sympathetic to Santorum for WINNING Louisiana and the press saying zero, zilch, nada about it...

..and whiny Hume (sounding like a 6 yr old) said...(& you have to have heard the way he said it)

'it doesn't matter, he didn't get the delegates'..
..his voice was just so petulant!

Bill said a couple more encouraging things about Rick.....and Hume kept swatting them down.

I knew Fox was in the tank for Romney, but this was so blatant from Hume last night.

If God or some mortal does not stop Romney, this country is doomed to utter destruction through another 4 or more years of Obama or his lighter skinned brother. The two are peas in a pod.

"Apparently he didn’t learn how to confront the media from Newt."

And what exactly does Newt have to show for his confrontations with the media?

Question for you and all. Wouldn’t Newt make the most amazing Press Secretary? The media would sh!t their undies every time that had to ask him a question.

A team? Santorum said he’s “open to being Romney’s VP”. What am I missing?

Speaker Newt Gingrich should be Secretary of State (if not John Bolton). I believe his team and himself, would indeed stir it organizationally up, and cause a lot of bad, bad, embedded people, career people, people that stink to high heaven, to quit and then replace them with Americans who will represent US interests first and foremost. Press Secretary is for somebody in their mid thirties. Also, as SOS he could work on weeding out the Islamic terrorist sleeper cells within our foreign policy community. Either that, or Intelligence Community would be good for that, but Itend to think Michelle Bachmann or Allen West would be good at that.
