I agree. I am ready to be disappointed when SCOTUS rules. Sadly, it is up to them. I don’t see us winning the Senate, so it is here to stay unless SCOTUS kills it.

...”effort to force people into commerce to subsidize health insurance, but the insurance market may be unique enough to justify that unusual treatment..”

And then the attempted anti-christ take-over over of the human body will justify ANY leverage. The 15 trillion leverage bailout, the plan all along.

The plan all along. U.S. Territory = Federal Work Camp.

15 Trillion $ leverage Federal Shackled Labor Camp.

The members of the Court are many times just having a discussion with each other through their questions to the presenting attorney.

"Kennedy raised the possibility that the plaintiffs [i.e., the government] were right that the mandate was a unique effort to force people into commerce to subsidize health insurance, but the insurance market may be unique enough to justify that unusual treatment.”

Sounds suspiciously like the kind of specious argument the left always makes when violating the Constitution.

I agree with you. The fix is in.

RIghtwardHo said: "Nice insight all who saw this as a possible throw away."

I don't think so. Imagine what Social Security would look like TODAY if every healthy person between 18 and 45 could opt out of paying the tax? Imagine how quickly the red ink would flow. Obamacare would be the same.

The estimates of the cost of Obamacare have already doubled since passage. Estimates of the cost to cover only people who don't have private coverage and who have existing conditions would skyrocket.

She might just as easily wind up pissing off Kennedy enough that he votes against anything she promotes.

Let Sotomayor and Kagan have their meetings at the White House and with other dem operatives. Then let them attempt to manipulate the Justices. When they try, that will be it. . .

"This case IS the line in the sand. Either the law is struck down and we still retain some of our liberties with a chance to restore more in the future, or it is not and we retain none and say goodbye to the America that we have loved for generations. It is that simple."

Yes, this is either our road back to a Constitutional Republic or is the final nail in our coffin. If the USSC allows this atrocity to continue, then our representatives can force us to do anything their little pea-brain self-absorbed socialist minds dictate.

If so, then stand by for ever increasing legislation that furthers the so-called good in the "general welfare" and "commerce clauses", much to chagrin of our Founding Fathers and their original intent. At which point, a clandestine RVII will commence - watch.

Civil disobedience is coming if the USSC doesn't follow our Constitution regarding this issue. The Obamacare lawyers can parse and spin and claim different precedence all day, but the fact remains this is the biggest socialist over-reach of liberties in our Country's history. I will not abide.

I will NOT have wasted 11 years of my life in the Navy, and will not watch all the wonderful military young men and women who have died and maimed for a Country that will no longer allow them the freedom of choice. I will fight in my old age in any way I can against such totalitarianism. I did it before - I will do it again. I WILL stand.

The Sol Gen was “unprepared” because he knows the fix is already in. They know how everyone is going to vote except for Kennedy? I don’t buy it.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the ruling is “It’s okay this time for the government to force the citizens to buy insurance but we aren’t saying the government can make you buy anything else. We’ll consider all other forced purchases on a case by case basis.”

It is beginning to appear to me that Obama is more of a leftist / socialist / liberal (but I repeat myself) than even the Democratically-appointed members of the SCOTUS can stomach.

I know it’s not over ‘til the fat lady sings, but I think I hear her warming up.

Obama has seriously offended the Justices of the Supreme Court on more than one occasion — and judges have long memories.......And remember, the Supremes — like congress — is a co-equal branch of the government... Even the Liberal justices are probably a bit irritated about the disregard Obama has showne for the rule of law. I just hope I am not clinging to straws.

Coming on this thread late but... Obama 'publically' on naional and International TV, insulted the 'Supremes'....I doubt very much that they saw that as a simple offense...they may very well "play with the Broccoli" in full view of the audiance because Obam knows what the Broccli issue was about...even if the audiance might not. Bottom line...I don't think you're pulling at straws at all... and it is a major thing.

I'll vote for the Republican candidate in November regardless - because the alternative is our nation's destruction.

I totally agree, but even if Chairman O loses in November, he'll do everything in his power until January to widen the destruction he has already started!

"Obama has seriously offended the Justices of the Supreme Court on more than one occasion — and judges have long memories..."

You are kidding yourself if you think the Supremes will make a decision by a minor slight obambi said at a State of Union message. I actually hope they are not that biased and rule by Constitutional intent.

"Anyone who thought she would recuse herself is fooling themselves. She is a leftists and they are above conflicts of interest. Even if she went to dinner with Sebellius last night and recieved her orders, she still wouldn’t see that as a conflict of interest."

Agreed. She has her socialist totalitarian agenda and will not deviate from it. Socialists like her, know since clinton days, they can get away with anything if they just stand firm. Everyday people don't care because they just don't care, and she knows this.

You touch on an interesting point, one I hope the Justices consider. The Democrats should have foreseen this before enacting ObamaCare.
It gives unlimited power to the Executive and the legislative branches, both in Democrat hands at the time. That will not always be the case, and when the Rights takes power, they can enact anything into ObamaCare, like eliminating abortion.
This is a lose-lose for Obama and the Dems no matter which way SCOTUS decides.
