I don’t think it could be. Uijonbu (outside of Camp Red Cloud) was quite a lot of fun in the 70’s, believe me. Partied in the town outside of Osan Air Force Base while on TDY. Different vibe than TDC. And the bars outside of Yongsan in Seoul were different, as well, as were the places in the more “Korean” parts of Seoul.
TDC was the wild, wild, west. We went to Uijongbu and Itaewan a couple of times but found it too tame.
