Importantly, the Israelis have been working on a smaller version of this less than lethal weapon for 3 years now, at a cost of about $250k each, quite a bargain. 3 years ago, their production schedule was just 1 year, so by now, hopefully, they have a bunch of them.
With a number of those located at critical points along the borders, along with other Israeli innovated less lethal weapons like the “skunk bomb”, this attack could both be turned into a rout, and a stinky and painful, if not lethal, one at that.
While the ADS have never been used in a tactical situation, in this case it would be for the best if it was kept in ready reserve, if for no other reason than to have good field testing of other developed system, to help judge their effectiveness. Field trials.
