The U.S. Department of Justice had no comment on the $10,000 bounty the New Black Panther Party (NBPP) was offering for a "citizen's arrest" of George Zimmerman, the 28 year old man who told Sanford, Florida Police he shot and killed 17 year old Trayvon Martin on February 26 in an act of self-defense.
According to a number of reports, the NBPP "called for the mobilization of 10,000 black men" to do the "arrest." Zimmerman and his family have received death threats since the case became a national issue. Mr. Zimmerman has not been arrested by local authorities. Federal, state, and local investigations of the shooting are happening, and he is currently in hiding.
The bounty made its ways around social media, including Twitter, and attached itself to an unfortunate tweet. One individual decided to tweet what he thought was George Zimmerman's home address. Film director Spike Lee re-tweeted the incorrect address out to his 250,000 followers. I discovered the address did not belong to Mr. Zimmerman and the actual residents were living in fear for their lives. Mr. Lee has since apologized and compensated the couple whose residence was targeted on Twitter.
In an e-mail response to an inquiry, DOJ Office of Public Affairs' Xochitl Hinojosa wrote: "The FBI is aware of the statements and we are unable to comment at this time."
Rep. Allen West, Florida Republican, posted a statement on his FaceBook page calling on the Justice Department to prosecute the NBPP for the bounty:

The DOJ we know for a fact has brought in lawyers which are very radical left wing and they have said that black on white crime is not going to be investigated.
How I wish we had a candidate which had the balls to go after obama, to investigate how he and Kagen are probably talking especially the vote today on health care.

This DOJ is worthless. I hope a lot of attorneys there quit, but I wouldn’t bet on it happening.
I thought it was an incentive to commit murder. It’s also a declaration that the Panthers are a law onto themselves. But let’s talk about those right-wing militias.

It wouldn’t even have to be a white supremacy group, it could merely be the Tea Party (not that they don’t disingenously call us that anyway, as they follow Goebbels’ doctrine of propaganda), amd right away not only the DoJ, not only rat congressmen, but even GOP congressmen (toking up some “PC” points) would be waiting in lines at the mics to denounce the racist, dangerous, law-breaking Tea Party.

But when a genuine blatant unlawful threat-a hit in all but name-is put out by “the new black panthers” against a citizen’s life-—”move along folks, nothing to see here”. Cowards. A response to the democratic party attacks on Hispanics
(George Zimmerman) is an opportunity to sever Hispanic
voters from Obama and the Demos by showing that Obama
only cares about black people and Hispanics have to take
care of themselves. That message has to be delivered on
every Hispanic radio and tv station and Spanish newspaper.
Republicans take notice.

I’m with you - it makes me sick to watch the sheeple in this country sitting on their backsides. We should have had millions marching on the District of Corruption when Michele Bachmann was rallying agaist the passage of Obamacare and it’s DEATH PANELS, when Piglosi did her march across the lawn and her black companion was spat upon-NOT. Not much difference in the USA during 2012 and Germany in the 1930s.
