You are probably right. The Color of Change groups, the media, the Axelrod wannabe’s are all looking for anecdotal stories they can exploit. They’ve learned that the Natalie Holloway du jour can drive the media. And the 24-7 media (including the comedians, Oprahs, etc) need a new anecdote when the old one starts to unravel (Limbaugh’s ratings are UP).
They see what they are doing now as spring training. They are polling and focus grouping peoples’ reactions to the Limbaugh du jour and not to the Zimmerman du jour. When playoff and world series time for the game of politics comes this fall, they will replicate those specific anecdotes and spin on stories that most advanced their agenda.
What you see is calculated. In the same way that Velichek prepares and calculates what to do, so the political players are carefully calculating which tactics they can get away with...and which ones are winning tactics.
Summer and Fall are merely an emphasis to the coming tide of discontent by no other than-—you guessed it-—The Unions. The crawlers will be emboldened.
