Winning Ticket Sold in Baltimore County one of several nationwide

Maryland sold one of the winning tickets for last night’s record-breaking $640 million Mega Millions jackpot. The lucky ticket was purchased at a retailer in Baltimore County. Lottery officials are waiting for information on jackpot winners from other Mega Millions states. The multi-state Mega Millions game is played in 44 states and jurisdictions – including Maryland, Virginia, Delaware and the District of Columbia. Last night’s winning numbers were 2-4-23-38-46 and Mega Ball 23.

“This is truly remarkable and historic,” said Maryland Lottery Director Stephen Martino. “We can’t wait to greet the winner of this world-record setting jackpot.”

I hope the winner does good things. We spent $100 and got $38 back. Best return ever.

Wouldn’t it be better to have 640 people win $1 million.

One of the worse things that can happen to a person is winning a lottery.

Most end up miserable and having more problems then they had before.

“...640 people win $1 milion each?”

I think that’s a good idea, but how would you pick the winners?

Just have a plain $1 million lottery....period....

I know...people like to think big...but it's stupid...it cuts down your chances.

***...it cuts down your chances***.

The probability odds are always 1 in 176,000,000. The number of ticket buyers has no affect on that statistic; because it is based on the constant 5 +1 random selection of numbers 1 through 59. It’s a static probability.

The increased ‘pot’ is based on the infusion of new ticket purchases.

CHICAGO (AP) — Lottery ticket-holders in Kansas, Illinois and Maryland each selected the winning numbers and will split a $640 million jackpot that was believed to be the world’s largest such prize, a lottery official said Saturday.

Mike Lang, spokesman for the Illinois Lottery, said his state’s winning ticket was sold in the small town of Red Bud, near St. Louis. The winner used a quick pick to select the numbers, he said.

The Maryland Lottery announced earlier Saturday that it had sold a winning ticket at a retail store in Baltimore County. No details were immediately available about the Kansas ticket.

Unemployment will end, a quick fix would only bring more problems.

I never win.
I play only when it gets ridiculously huge, but then I really believe that I’m going to win!

So there are also the PTSD related expenses I have to figure in to my loss.
