The next Jean Schmidt? The top 10 House incumbents who could lose their primaries
Washington Post ^ | March 30, 2012 | Aaron Blake

Even in the most anti-incumbent primary season of the past few decades, less than 5 percent of members of Congress lost their primaries.

...

But relatively speaking, this looks like one of the most anti-incumbent years in decades. There are several factors in the coming election that will lead to an increase in the number of members sent home early — and it’s quite possible we could see more incumbents lose than at any point in the last 40 years.

my GOP rep is retiring. Must have been catching too much flack for votes for TARP and bailouts. With redistricting, shortly will have a rep that voted against TARP and bailouts. A better rep, than the one retiring which is still my rep but will soon be gone ... thank goodness. my rep (retiring) had some excuses that were full of holes in voing for TARP and the bailouts. (imho) this rep was finished in this area and redistricting will give this area a much better rep.

My rep, Heath Shuler, is not running due to redistricting. A republican should win since the district no longer contains most of Asheville.

The Ohio primaries are over. The only primary opponent Boehner had was a fringe guy who only ran to put pictures of aborted babies on TV.

Which, by the way, is the worst way ever to change hearts and minds on abortion.

I live in his district. There is no serious opposition to Boehner here, even among the Tea Party groups. He is very in tune with the district.

He’s viewed as not perfect, but a good man trying to do a difficult job.
