Obama Calls for More Redistribution of Wealth, Declaring: ‘I Am My Brother’s Keeper’ By Terence P. Jeffrey April 2, 2012
(CNSNews.com) - In a campaign speech in Vermont on Friday, President Barack Obama referenced the biblical story of Cain and Abel in condemning what he called "you're-on-your-own economics" while arguing for a number of policies that involve government transferring wealth from one group of citizens to another—including providing public schools with more money for teachers’ salaries, freezing the interest rates on government-backed student loans, supporting companies developing biofuels, electric batteries and wind and solar power and funding scientists who are doing research on stem cells and climate change.
“I hear politicians talking about values in an election year,” Obama said. “I hear a lot about that. Let me tell you about values. Hard work, personal responsibility--those are values. But looking out for one another. That’s a value. The idea that we’re all in this together. I am my brother’s keeper. I am my sister’s keeper. That’s a value.”

Hey, Obama, if you want to be “your brother’s keeper,” go ahead. Spend you own money on charitable organizations and help others and that will show “your” values in truth.
But, when you undertake to TAKE money from the rest of us and force, under government compulsion (which ultimately means at the point of a gun) to give that money to the people and activities YOU proscribe, that is no longer charity of any sort, and it is not the values this nation or its christian heritage is based upon.
But it does reflect YOUR TRUE VALUES. You are a marxist ideolog and adhere to that value system which is the enemy of our free market and liberty.
All the fine wordsmithing in the world cannot change that...and we’re on to you.

It's not a value, it's a snide remark made by a murder who got caught. Which, on further thought, might be fitting for the current infanticide enthusiast.

No, not everyone, just Obama. I've never heard anyone other than him use the particular phrase "brother's keeper" in the way this president does. What's odd perhaps, is that he repeats this particular line time and again. Why this one? Aren't there other biblical allusions that are even slightly more useful for what he wants to say?
Then I realized. Starting from the beginning, this was the first clause he came across that sounded as if it could be successfully demagogued. That's when he stopped reading.
