**I think Obama, in his post-summit (Mexico, US, Canada) TV appearance, just told the US Supreme Court how to vote on the Obamacare issue.**

The Supreme Court spent three days hearing arguments last week in four separate challenges to the health care law, which stands as the president's signature domestic policy accomplishment. A central challenge was over the individual mandate -- the requirement that Americans buy health insurance. Critics say the mandate is unconstitutional, and that the federal government cannot force people into the insurance marketplace.
Some of us are cubicle bound, although I will attempt to find out what’s going from the TV in the break room.
Although... every time I turn the TV on to Fox, one of the managers comes along behind me and turns it to CNN (probably while cursing.)
I do it just to make them crazy. :-)

I wonder how he feels about the 9th circuit and the gay marriage ban in CA.
I think he meant to say "I'm confident that the Supreme Court will not take what would be an unprecedented, extraordinary step of overturning a law that was passed by a strong-armed majority of elected Democrat Congressmen."

Do not forget the illegal tactic Reid used, ‘reconcilation’, which had nothing to do with obamacare and thus could not be used, per Senate rules.
Oh...my...goodness. What does he think the Supreme Court is there for? Has he not heard the term "checks and balances"? Does he not understand that they're unelected so as to be above the political fray?

Far from being a "strong majority", the law barely squeaked though both Houses of Congress. That makes it a law passed by a "bare majority" rather than a strong majority.
And of course, any law passed by Congress necessarily was passed by a "majority", so Obama's statement really comes down to saying that it is "unprecedented" that SCOTUS overturn a law passed by Congress.
What a maroon.
I hope he keeps throwing a tantrum in the press about it for another month. Perhaps he will piss off the two that wanted to uphold the law.
I hope he gets a landmark ruling that shuts down the overreaching activities of Congress and the whitehouse using the commerce clause.
I hope Alito writes for the Majority...

Well, this is a good example and Im pretty confident this court will recognize that and not take that step

We are confident that this will be upheld because it should be upheld, Obama said at a joint news conference with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Mexican President Felipe Calderon.
The reason is because in accordance with precedent out there, its constitutional, Obama said. Thats not just my opinion, by the way. Thats the opinion of legal experts across the ideological spectrum, including two very conservative appellate court justices who said this wasnt even a close case.

Thanks for the link, mojitojoe. So, 0’b0z0 has *slapped* SCOTUS once again. By his standards, congress should be able to pass a law (because they were democratically elected) that every other child born must go to live in kenya because we have too many people here and SCOTUS can’t do anything because they were unelected. So why was he so excited to appoint two nitwits? Why are they there? He is beyond being a putz. If I said what I really want to call him I’d be banned.
