LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A day after raucous celebrations led to more than two dozen arrests, police said Sunday that they are ready to control crowds near the University of Kentucky's campus when the Wildcats play Kansas for the national championship.
Lexington city police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts told The Associated Press on Sunday that several hundred officers will be out in force on Monday to help keep order.
"We're prepared," she said. "We expect a majority of people to obey the law."
Police plan a few adjustments from Saturday, when thousands of fans spilled onto streets after Kentucky defeated cross-state rival Louisville in New Orleans. Fans torched couches and overturned a car before setting it ablaze.

Sounds like a lot of crowd noise on some of those radio calls.
Dueling demonstrations. Which end up costing more police expenses? Occupy demonstrations or out of control sports fans. ;-) See link for Occupy demonstration costs.

A riot? There was a group of people being fairly destruction among a crowd that was standing around watching them and not participating. Bad stuff going on - yes - but nothing that could described as a “riot.”
they seem to be concerned that there is an "open mic". I think that is where the crowd noise is coming from.
Sounds like the Police are out-manned.
They’re just trying to herd these kids onto streets so fire trucks can get through.
Boy! Imagine what would happen if someone at the University discovered a new PLANET?!/s;)
They just reported that somebody said "they were going to shoot everybody."
I don’t know what will end up happening tonight one way or the other - I was responding to the headline about what happened Saturday night.
Just heard a “shots fired, man down” call.
Get out of Kentucky as soon as possible.
Police: “We’ve got two male nude subjects in custody here...”
The Lexington Herald-Leader said that by 1 a.m. there had been at least 13 arrests, including several people suspected of arson. The newspaper also reported police had to dodge flying beer bottles while taking fire extinguishers to put out dozens of fires
People running around nude too?
Can’t imagine what they’d do if something bad happened.
Youths?
The people on this thread obviously don’t understand Kentucky fans. They’re fanatics whose personalities and self-esteem are completely wrapped up in the wins and losses of their team.
Just noting that the article itself is from Sunday after the semifinal win.
“Can’t imagine what they’d do if something bad happened”
Like maybe having the season and championship game vacated............
