Silent treatment: Olbermann wouldn’t even talk to boss
NY Post ^ | 4/3/12 | MARC BERMAN

Posted on 04/03/2012 3:34:16 AM PDT by jimbo123

No one tells the great Keith Olbermann what to do — not even his boss!

The liberal gasbag demanded that he answer to no one at Current TV — whose founders eventually fired him — to the point that the president of the network couldn’t get even “one word” in with Olbermann, insiders told The Post.

Instead, Current TV President David Bohrman had to go through the star’s manager, Michael Price — who said Olbermann should be referred to as a “ ‘performer,’ not a news anchor or reporter,” a network insider said.

His fans are the same useful idiots who want to shut Rush down. Last I heard Rush’s ratings were higher than ever, while Olberman got canned from a network that competes with test patterns for basement ratings.

I sure his boss was thankful for his silence.

He sure got that one right. Let's face it folks, most of what we call "the media" today is nothing more than entertainment. It's not something that's confined to the left, either. Over the years I've run across some notable conservative media folks whose names everyone on this site would recognize, and I'm still amazed at how mediocre they were intellectually.

What a putrid little man Olberman sounds like. His whole personality reeks of a nasty, mean spirited, wanker!

So how about listing the names of these intellectually mediocre, notable, conservative media folks?

I'll await your response.

Wanker? Odorman is one of Peggy’s cousins? From Wanker County?

I won't snipe here on FR because they were all genuinely nice people, but I'll give you a hint:

I once worked in the same building as a major radio company in a large U.S. market, and shared many an elevator ride with their most notable "conservative" on-air personalities. I even got to know a couple of them well enough that I could call the radio station at the end of a show and speak with them off the air.

Sit down and figure it out. Freep-mail me with any further questions.

You know JG45, I understand your desire to defend conservatives in the media, but I have to say that I don't doubt Alberta's Child in this. With just a few exceptions, I think that the people in the media are a very un-exceptional lot, except perhaps for their ability to play the big media's internal political games. The only one - on the conservative side - I can think of offhand that is actually exceptional by any objective measure is Rush Limbaugh. Most of the rest are either blowhards, wannabees, or borderline psychos. Limbaugh is the only one who really has something to say, at least sometimes (no one can be brilliant every day).

Of course, the liberal media figures are hopeless. Not a single one has a thing to say that's interesting, even on their best day. In fact, the only ones I ever heard in my life that were worth even a moment's time were Lynn Samuels of WABC and Andy Rooney, who's best days were over 25 years before he passed away. Those two were, on good days, capable of intellectual honesty as well as a (very occasional) worthwhile insight.

I'm inclined to allow Albert's Child to protect confidences to which he/she may be a party and take his/her words at face value.

One night when the idiots at NBC had him on NFL Sunday Night he was wasted on something, he just sat there glassy eyed staring at the screen. Not long after that he was removed.

Mike Gallagher comes immediately to mind, followed by Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly. Mediocre intellect does not necessarily prohibit one from being successful.

Keith Ubermann appears to have delusions of grandeur with fascist tendencies.

Very much like his cult leader, Uberbama, who has the same affliction......as evidenced yesterday by the president's unilateral declaration of war against the Supreme Court.
