Obama: Press Has Been Too Balanced in Covering Budget Debate By Fred Lucas April 3, 2012 Subscribe to Fred Lucas's posts
(CNSNews.com) President Barack Obama told a gathering of newspaper editors on Tuesday that journalists were being too balanced in reporting on his conflict with Republicans over the federal budget.
I guess another way of thinking about this, and this bears on your reporting, I think that there is oftentimes the impulse to suggest that if the two parties are disagreeing that they are equally at fault and the truth lies somewhere in the middle, equivalence is presented, which reinforces peoples cynicism about Washington in general, Obama said. This is not a situation where there is equivalence.
Ive got some of the most liberal Democrats in Congress were prepared to make some of the most significant changes in entitlements that go against their political interest and who said they were willing to do it, Obama added. We couldnt get a Republican to stand up and say well raise some revenue or even to say we wont give more tax cuts to people who dont need them.
The president was speaking at the Associated Press luncheon at the American Society of Newspaper Editors convention in Washington, D.C.
So, as all of you are doing your reporting, I think its important to remember, the positions Im taking now on the budget and a host of other issues, if wed been having this discussion 20 years ago, or even 15 years ago, would have been considered squarely centrist positions, Obama told the editors. Whats changed is the center of the Republican Party. Thats certainly true with the budget.

or you can boil it down to “you don’t have to waste time covering their side because I am always right”
There are two absolute hippie-wacko left-wing TV channels on my dish....LinkTV and Free Speech TV. Good to check out every once in awhile for a hearty laugh.
Except this Obama speech seemed to encapsulate everything they had ever broadcast.
I just heard a really good example used on “The Five.” The MSM sees the Dems pushing a woman in front of a bus and then they see the Reps pushing that woman out from in front of the bus. Then they report, “Both Party Pushing Around Women!”
That isn’t the case AT ALL! They actually report, “Republicans Pushing Around Women!” And they do it with a straight-face!
Huh? is right. Every word out of the idiot-in-chief’s mouth is a lie.
I totally agree and have also thought the same re his being truly clinically narcissist. Sane adults would be embarrassed to receive the kind of adulation he basks in-the Grecian temple backdrop?! Sane adults are not as susceptible to opposition as he is-he literally can’t take it. All the more reason to ratchet up opposition and public ridicule of his fantasy world. Pile it on until he breaks. The deference he gets from Republican Congress only feeds his delusions of grandeur and arrogance.

Obama IS melting down : )
Wow, just wow.
Loser talking to losers. Arrogance came through and they will overlook it.
He knows....Kagan is a Marxist psycho, just like him. She got word to him within an hour.
Yes the press was being balanced. Since our failing economy is 90% Obama’s fault and his budget would make things 3 times worse then the press should be hammering Obama.
They are not.
In the last two days he has melted down more than usual.
This is going to be great seeing the man child in a puddle of tears.
First, how could something be "too balanced?" Seriously? What, you want a little bias in your "reporting" ???
Second, the MSM has been anything but balanced in its coverage of any and all things political. ABC/MSNBC/CBS/CNN etc. make the old Pravda under the USSR look fair, balanced, and truthful. FUBO
Looking forward to it.
More’s the pity there is no literate challenge.
Back at him. Fortunately, he provides a plethora of material.
Yep...and he has thin skin, so he'll slip up as it is piled on.
