WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama said Tuesday Republicans want to force a "radical vision" on the nation, accusing the opposition party of moving so far to the right that even one of its beloved figures, Ronald Reagan, could not win a GOP presidential primary.

“Reagan would have been at the Tea Party rallies” - Amen to that.

Reagan drew his inspiration from the stories of the days when men stood astride this nation, shore to shore and border to border. Somehow, there seem to be very few such stories being studied or even related today. Those who are in positions of power in the financial and business worlds, seem both timid and devious at the same time, as if they were ashamed of what they had to do to get where they are at. Men in high positions in the government who have never had to go out and defend the honor and trust of the nation in a meaningful way, seem willing to trade away that honor and trust for personal advantage, and for obscure goals in trying to create a fantasy world that has never been functional at any time in history.

Obama has no inkling of what a magnificent force of nature Ronald Reagan was, able to wrest control of the “bully pulpit” of the Presidency from the hands of those who would not, could not, use its potential for the common good, not only of America, but the world, building that beacon that stood at the center of the shining city on the hill.

Perhaps the Reagan era was not America’s finest hour, but those were pretty good times.

Especially considering the dystopia we have sunk into, and which promises to become much, much worse.

Obozo is conflating the RINO GOP with responsible Conservatives registered as Republicans.

They are polar opposites.

A clearcut case of the pot calling the kettle... uh... black.

Obama’s vision is to take America straight into the Marxian State, and anything to the right of that is anathema.

Ronald Reagan would, of course, be utterly and absolutely appalled at the current political monkeyshines.

Today’s Dem Party would reject John Kennedy.

You make a good point with your graphic there. In fact, I think the modern GOP party should be renamed to the CRICKET PARTY! Don’t they sound so pretty when they all chirp together? I wish at least one had a spine.

Reagan also learned that the Dems were lying to him so he fought back by shutting the government down several times to FORCE the spending cuts they “promised” in statute.

Reagan’s last three FY budgets had declining and small deficits even compared to today’s. They were in the $150 billion range.

And back then the liberal MSM types were SCREAMING about debt. Now they look at Obama’s unprecedented deficits and yawn or jump on the “can’t cut because our food will suddenly be poisoned” BS bandwagon.

If any idiot left wing moron gets in my face and tries to argue that limiting the size and scope of the federal government means “kids will get sick and die” or “instantly our air would become toxic” etc. (yes, they make these kind of ridiculous arguements) then I’ll knock them on their ass!

That is correct. He would not want to be part of today’s GOP. Listen to his speeches in the 50’s and 60’s on socialized health care. He touts the Conservative line, not the RINO line.

How dare this ASSCLOWN presume to tell us what WE would do. Next thing you know, he’ll be telling the Supreme Court what to do...

JFK would be considered a republican today. He was staunchly anti-communist and a capitalist, unlike today’s democrats.

I dunno; now that Gene Simmons has come out for Romney, we may be seeing an altogether different side to ole Willard:

Not many who have always been died in the wool Democrats around here admit to being Democrats because of jackasses like Obama who have moved so far to the left they are circling the planet.

BINGO!! You got that in before I did.

Ronald Reagan and Mitt Romney would be on the opposite side of every major issue facing America today.

Hardly. The country hadn’t yet been through the hell Clinton and Obama have put it through. The rino leaders of the party wouldn’t want him but they didn’t want him then either.

Besides I always listen to liberal Marxists telling me about what my side would and wouldn’t want.
