My husband is going to Scotland and Ireland with some golfing friends in May.
He's been to Scotland but this is his first trip to Ireland. He's a bit of a golf nut.

Take a rain coat, preferably gore-tex or similar.
Ireland is a fantastic place for a holiday, the scenery is impressive.
Remember that things move at a pace slower than you are used too.
Great place, but then I might be slightly biased.

We've vacationed in England, Wales, and Scotland. We had a wonderful time each time we went. Hubby was traveling on his British passport at the time, but he is now an American citizen (I'm so proud of him).
I'm sure that Ireland will be just as great for you and Mrs. Red, and I hope that it's the trip of a lifetime for you. Plus, you might get to meet Moose07! That would just be sooo cool!
