Black Lawmakers Introduce Trayvon Martin Resolution

Several Congressional Black Caucus members have introduced a resolution that memorializes 17-year-old Trayvon Martin and calls for the repeal of controversial gun laws that allow shooters to claim self-defense.

The resolution states that the February shooting of Martin “sets a horrific precedent of vigilante justice and compromises the integrity of the legal system.” It also says assailant George Zimmerman’s “unfounded assumptions and racial bias led to the use of deadly force.”

Zimmerman’s family and lawyer have refuted claims that he shot Martin because he was black.

Most black folks I know are gun owners. I don’t think they would like being told they can’t defend themselves.

Since blacks commit the vast majority of crimes, including violent crimes, it comes as no surprise that they want to take away the right of self defense. Especially for white people.

The liberal black lawmakers just don’t want you to shoot their future electorate, but it seems to me they are doing a pretty good job of it themselves. They should craft a law to somehow reintroduce a civilized culture into the black community.

AS I fight the creeping racism in my own heart through all of this, I have to wonder how those who have no brakes such as belief in Judgement from God, are beginning to feel.

Maybe they should run some statistics on what is more dangerous. How many deaths have occurred unlawfully (not ruled protecting oneself) from registered gun owners?

How many deaths have occurred from young thugs either with or without a gun?

I would say possibly 1% registered gun owners (if that)
and the other 99% goes to the second group. Now which group are you against Black Lawmakers? Oh of course the one that has killed your only black student which most definitely was due to his use of deadly force against an armed man.

You know what - why in the world do we allow the Black caucus to continue? Or the Black Panthers? Or the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People)

I am not racist - but this type of nonsense causes my blood to boil. My son wants to start a group called NAAWP (National Association for the Advancement of White People) to counteract what these other groups are doing. Not because he is racist either, but because he believes where is the fairness in even promoting such a thing in this day and age? Really - what is the point?

Boehner should rule this wacky bill out-of-order, because it’s based on a false assumption.

All the evidence supports Zimmerman’s story, i.e., that Trayvon attacked physically first, with deadly intent (”you’re going to die tonight”). Self-defense is justified here, there’s no vigilante justice or rush to judgment, except for the CBC.

Yes let's call it the Trayvon Martin SENSEBLE NAMING, SENSEBLE PARENTING and NO THUGGERY FOR BLACKS ACT OF 2012. The law would be no naming your kids 'creative names' (such as Trayvon, or LaMarquez), having the sperm donors in the kids life and having them do their homework and making sure there are dressed like people should be dressed....not having there boxers showing!! (had a guy in for an interview...he came in looking like he doesn't care, his boxers were showing and his jeans were about 6 sizes to big for him.)

This may sound incredibly naive, but since castle doctrine laws have been passed in CCW States, from where does the "Congressional Black Caucus" derive the authority to repeal State laws?
