Former Law Professor Says Obama Misspoke on Supreme Court

Constitutional law scholar Laurence Tribe, a Harvard Law School professor and former mentor to President Barack Obama, said the president "obviously misspoke" earlier this week when he made comments about the Supreme Court possibly overturning the health care law.

Tribe, who calls the president one of his best students, said in an interview, "He didn't say what he meant ... and having said that, in order to avoid misleading anyone, he had to clarify it."

Tribe said he saw no reason for the president to express his views on the matter, because everyone already knows he wants the case upheld.

"I don't think anything was gained by his making these comments and I don't think any harm was done," Tribe said, "except by public confusion."

The dust-up began Monday, when Obama was asked about the law and said it would be a prime example of judicial overreach if the Supreme Court ruled against it.

"I'm confident that the Supreme Court will not take what would be an unprecedented, extraordinary step of overturning a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically elected Congress," he said.

“Misspoke” - is that what the young whippersnappers call it now?

We called it “lying”.

Tribe should have kept his pie hole shut! Trying to convince people that Zero didn’t mean what he CLEARLY said, is like trying to convince someone that a dogturd is actually shoe polish!

Sadly, my every observation of this person lends support to your contention.

Here we have exhibit #1 as to why 0baMao is dumber than a box of rocks about the Constitution...

No, my FRiend, Mister Obama is far from "dumb".

That said, he is not even nearly in league intellectually with the likes of Einstein, George W. Bush, or Ben Franklin; however, he is not stupid.

LMBO!!

I read the story and then had to check to see if this was another one of John Semmens' satires.

Lawrence Tribe... That assclown was too liberal for even recent liberal presidents to nominate to the Supreme Court. Of course, maybe Ubama wanted to nominate Tribe, but he had to nominate more politically correct people - - you know, reliable Democrat protected minority classes. White liberal men got no shot anymore. None.

Congratulations to them for cutting their own throats, har freaking har!
They are getting exactly what they deserve - - ignored.

I don’t think they realized the reaction those remarks would have. Because they think it’s a silly piece of paper, they assume most others think the same thing.

Surprise!

Yes, you can put a hat on a pig and call it a politician, but it is still a pig and a politician (hat or no).

Obama was a “constitutional” - CHOOSE ONE: Professor, Adj. Prof., Lecturer, fraud.

I asked an obama worshipper, who constantly talks about how stupid Sarah Palin is, how many states there are. He replied there are 50. I told him obama said there is 57. His reply was “He didn’t mean it.” They always look for a way out for him.
