Deeper in the article are details about the police report I haven't seen before...

Last week,it was revealed that the Sanford Police Department requested an arrest warrant from the Seminole County State Attorney's Office in the shooting, but the state attorney's office held off until the case could be further reviewed.

There's no indication the prosecutor went to the scene of the shooting, but in a police report of the incident, there's an indication that Sanford Police may have felt a manslaughter charge was warranted in the case.

On the incident report, the case was described as "homicide-negligent manslaughter-unnecessary killing to prevent an unlawful act."

Sanford Police issued a statement, saying that it was inaccurate to say an officer at the scene of the shooting wanted an arrest based on the "Uniform Crime Code" listed on the report.

"All police reports from all law enforcement agencies require a 'Uniform Crime Code' to qualify an incident and for statistical purposes for tracking types of incidents," the statement said. "This code does not indicate a formal charge that will be lodged against an alleged offender. It is used for internal processing and to type cases."

I know he wasn’t arrested on this charge, but reading about this incident and having not been there makes me wonder about my own reactions. So after much reflection I must say that I too would have pulled the trigger to keep someone from beating my head into the sidewalk.

I see no merit to these marches. I believe people are being manipulated.

There's no indication the prosecutor went to the scene of the shooting . . .

But there's no mention if he did or did not go the the police station, as I've seen reported.

It's interesting that both Lee and Wolfinger walked away from this case on the same day.

Posters on this site often write "I'd rather be judged by twelve than carried by six".

That's the injustice I saw here --- not a black/white thing.

Zimmerman should have had his day in court, like you or I would, but it seems someone wanted this swept under the rug.

members of Zimmerman's family were also present at the Sanford Police station the night of the shooting.

So, why weren't the Martin family there? Dad wasn't concerned after coming in late to find that junior wasn't home and assumed he was at a cousin's even when he was supposed to be grounded. Then he wasn't so concerned the next day when he couldn't find junior and assumed he had been arrested. Arrested. Yep, that's what any normal parent would assume - not. Trayvon supposedly had his cell on him since he was talking to his gf right before the incident so why couldn't the police push a button to call mom, dad, the gf, the cousin, or any of the numbers on the phone? If the dad has assumed he'd been arrested then this wouldn't have been the first time so the cops would have had a record of his prints so again, another quick ID. Did dad not come in that night? One would imagine that the cops would have had crime tape everywhere and dad would have wondered what was going on. Surely, the neighbors would have pointed out which apartment the kid had been at or would have still been out gawking when dad and gf eventually came home and told them what had happened. So, when and how did dad find out? That says a lot about how the teen was raised if no one was concerned with his whereabouts especially when he was supposed to have been grounded. I suspect the grounded story was another lie by the family.

there’s no point in trying someone who, if given a fair trial, (now a big IF, at the time, not one) would inevitably go free based on reasonable doubt.
