Apple released its own "security update" on Wednesday - more than eight weeks later. It can be triggered by clicking on the software update icon in the computer's system preferences panel.
I show no software to be updated by clicking on software update and I haven't updated since Wednesday.

I would have had to have clicked the okay, do the software update, which I didn't do.

Have you checked your list of Software Updates within System Preferences? Daily/Weekly/Monthly...
