If Mitt thinks past comments like these are going to help him win over independents, he’s dead wrong. Polls are showing them breaking hard for Obama.

Romney will be lucky to win 15 states in November.

I could say the same as well. But probably for entirely different reasons!

That’s the same connection that I have with the Republica party as well.

I think what he was saying is that he was not someone who was tied into the party apparatchiks, but rather was someone who registered as a Republican for idealistic philosophical reasons.

Romney, over and over, emphasizes the ONE GOOD THING about Obama: he's a Democrat.

At least Republicans can fight Obama.

Panic, fear, and desperation, make people take sure-loser gambles.

Romney in office would entail zero gamble for Republicans. It would be the safest "gamble" of all as far as knowing the results: liberalism would grow more powerful in both parties.

If Obama won another term, regardless of what all the Chicken Littles shriek about the world coming to an end, there is really ONLY ONE CERTAINTY: conservatism would become stronger in the Republican party. The Republican Party would shine brighter in its promise for Americans seeking an antidote to big government.

Yet in trade for the illusion of safety from Obama, we conservatives would SURRENDER to liberalism and allow Romney to DESTROY that promise? Because it is certain that with liberal Romney at the helm of the Republican party, that promise would be completely obliterated and Americans would become even more cynical than they are now as to there not being a dime's bit of difference between the two parties. THAT IS MUCH MORE CERTAIN than any guesses as to what four more years of Obama would lead to.

No matter how much we hate that this is true, no matter how much we want to close our eyes and our minds to it, no matter how much conservative Republicans strive to justify voting FOR a Republican who has consistently advocated the very things conservative Republicans stand against, the truth stubbornly remains: Romney is as liberal as Obama but because he's a Republican, he is more powerful in his liberalism.

Fear, desperation, and panic make people do stupid things. COURAGE IS THE ONLY PATH TO VICTORY. Conservatives and conservative Republicans and freedom-loving Americans should muster the COURAGE to be willing to face down Obama in the next four years if they expect to be victorious over statist liberalism -- yes, liberalism, the real enemy. Obama is a symptom; liberalism is the cause -- liberalism is the enemy. A vote for Romney is therefore a vote for the enemy. It's COMMON SENSE removed from fear.

If Romney gets the White House because conservatives were frightened into voting for him, be assured: liberalism will be made ten times more powerful in both parties, and the next Democrat president will make Obama seem like Dubya.

No guts, no glory. The SMART and COURAGEOUS strategy is to face down the enemy, Obama and liberalism, rather than surrender to it by handing the reins of power to liberal Romney to destroy the Republican brand and promise altogether.

Godspeed Newt Gingrich and Sarah Palin, and God help good Americans vanquish Mitt Romney and Barack Obama.
