There were quite a few that year. NM had a margin of 366 popular votes, 5 EVs, go to Gore. WI had about a 5,000 vote margin for Gore. These are useful lessons to keep in mind for anyone who gets all huffy about not voting because their candidate didn't win the nomination. A few votes here and there, adding up in pockets of key states, could make the different between restoring the Republic or a ruinous four more years of Marxism.

I'm not surprised that there were at least a few close states.IIRC Missouri was close too and went for Bush but,obviously,it's a large state...or at least it's not small.New Hampshire is the only *small* state that I recall having been close and having gone to Bush.
