Iowa Republicans are taking aim at the state's top law school for denying a faculty position to a conservative law professor, who an assistant dean once said embraces politics the rest of the faculty "despises."

If someone wants to open a law school its fine with me, as long as it isnt using tax dollars.
Ouch! Kryptonite to Liberal Fascists.
Off topic next. Didn't the voters of Iowa boot their entire Supreme Court in 2010 for imposing fag marriage?
You said it.
Private universities may do as they please.
A state law school may not so discriminate with public funds.
Notice that Jones, who is being sued, is the “former dean”.
Difference between George Mason and Iowa is in the quality of the teaching, not just the bias. GM students come away with an excellent level of knowledge in tax, securities, and the major technical disciplines as well as the foundational subjects of Property Law, Contracts, Constitutional Law, and Court Procedure.
Closest may be ACLJ, but doubt they’re local.
good luck.
we have tort reform.
civil trial on the federal level is all but extinct due to binding arbitration.
we ALREADY have loser pays via contract and specific area state laws. (see stand your ground protections)
Shutting down the oversupply of law schools means there will be no incentive to take nusance cases just to pay the student loan / regular bills. If each state has ONE state law school and it is shut down that means about 5000 to 1000 fewer lawyers EVERY YEAR. The rest will go down via retirement.
Conservative Walter Williams (a Rush fill-in) is also there. GM seems to get it.
I do not contribute to University of Washington for many of the same reasons.
I graduated from the Iowa Law school several years ago and the air was so thick with leftist drivel that it turned me into a rabid conservative. Actually found and joined FR during my time in law school. Bought my first gun, too.
Note to parents of prospective college students:
IGNORE sending your kid to this campus.
We need more Conservatives-—NOT MORE LIBERALS.
These people are running your country.
Sucks to be you. :P
Now shut the hell up and go pay your taxes. These university professors need raises. :)
/sarc(??????????????)
Of course they are...they are cranking out graduates who are ill-equipped to do anything worthwhile in the world, so they have to create a place to stash them as professors.
That isn't quite fair, either. To offer a rounded education, a university has to have someone who teaches logic, someone who teaches French literature. Ditto topology, micropaleontology, and a number of other obscure topics. They can't all teach business administration and practical nursing.
People who take courses in logic, topology, micropaleontology, and even French Lit (ie, courses where you have to actually think and study in order to pass) are likely people who will make something of themselves after graduation. I was thinking more of the people who take loads of courses like The Influence of Queer Black theory on Feminist Art.
Alternately, professors of such can transfer to private colleges where people can pay for such courses with their own money.
“I do not contribute to University of Washington for many of the same reasons.”
Same with the University of Minnesota, my alma mater.
you hold a what?
I’m sure that would be highly illegal.
every private law school that opens means a taxpayer funded law school can be closed.
Personnaly I wouldn’t complain too much if there was a quota on lawyers. We have too many already.
Or a bounty, that might work too.
