ARBY’S RESPONDS TO ANNOYED LIMBAUGH FANS BY BLOCKING THEIR TWITTER ACCOUNTS
The Blaze ^ | April 6, 2012 | Becket Adams

Posted on 04/07/2012 9:17:26 AM PDT by Qbert

Remember all the self-righteous chest thumping that went on after conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh made fun of the 30-year old Georgetown activist Sandra Fluke?

I’m sure you do. Politicians, celebrities, and major companies all got in on the “Censure Limbaugh” action. And why not? It was all the rage. Everyone was doing it.

And just like any good fad, somebody’s always late to the party. In this particular story, that “somebody” is Arby’s. Yep: the third-tier fast food chain announced yesterday (again, about a month late) that it would be removing advertisements from Limbaugh’s program.

Odd: “Limbaugh notes that Arby’s has never been a sponsor of his show,” Twitchy reports.

Unsurprisingly, as other advertisers boycotting Limbaugh quickly discovered, many customers have expressed irritation with Arby’s for publicly condemning the talk show host.

“Arby’s has alienated a large number of current and potential customers, who view this move as a strike against free speech,” Twitchy (conservative authoress Michelle Malkin’s start-up) reports.

In fact, many customers decided to voice their opinion via Arby’s Twitter feed:

Good grief, they’re actually blocking customer criticism? Now we’re not corporate strategists or anything, but we’re pretty sure blocking customers is just about the worst PR move a company can make.

“Arby’s had one foot in it yesterday … we guess they decided they needed to step in it with the other foot to even things out,” Twitchy writes, “Arby’s, we’re thinkin’ you really screwed up.”

Of course, in Arby’s defense, blocking people on Twitter isn‘t the worst idea they’ve ever had…

I had never seen a Carbonite or Edible Arrangement commercial on tv before they left Rush. Now they are all over the place. I guess 3 hrs on Rush is worth daily advertisements on multiple channels. Maybe Arbys needs more good mood food for their execs.

Nooooooo! I live for their Jamocha shakes!

Do yourself a favor and try a Chik-Fil-A shake. It's at least a full order of magnitude better. Especially the seasonals, like Peach or the current Banana Pudding shake.

...

Doggone it, now I gotta take a ride to Chik-Fil-A.

I’ve bought one sandwich at Arby’s and that was in the 1984. I’m not real crazy about tough, bland roast beef.

This “da Bronx”- ite now exiled to SoCal is now craving some murder burgers. The frozen type - do not cut it.

I could send you some, 20 or more in refrigerated not frozen, styrofoam cooler from NJ. It would have to be overnight shipping. Got a White Castle 2 miles from me. Would have to put pickles on the side, for better taste consistency.

Could be expensive with the refrigeration shipping.

They have a really GAY home page, and their “Team” looks extremely light in the loafers

http://www.roarkcapital.com/team.php

Not too big on having any black guys on the team either, out of about 40 people, I don’t see a single black.

How is that even possible in this day and age?

The homepage picture is famous as a cover on Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead. So pass on the gay comment.

Otherwise, two East Asian descents, and all women at the office manager and administrative assistant level. Hmm...

but first I'd actually have to find an Arby's

I have one in my town, if you come here and can stomach the crap they serve, you're in luck.
There's no waiting in line because there is no line. Honestly I don't know how the place survives. there's never anybody there!

It's right next to Del Taco which is right next to McDonalds, (those place are busy)

I think there is a relation between the recent announcements from Arby’s and Walgreens pulling local ads from Rush and the new Huckabee show just starting. Arby’s is owned by Rourk Capital, who are big Romney supporters. Huckabee is supporting Romney too. I would not be surprised if the left (MediaMatters) and the center-left (Rinos) are both trying to take down Rush and conservatism.

I keep on wondering why are Arby’s and Walgreens doing thus now, when Rush apologized over the incident over a month ago. I think giving a spotlight to Huckabee and RinoRadio is the answer.

Has Walgreen's pulled their ads? I just emailed corporate and politely asked them to confirm or deny.

If they confirm they have lost a local customer who has spent LOTS of money there over the past decade.

OK...that's it! I am now officially primed to go ballistic. It was bad enough for some of the others I patronized and am now boycotting. ProFlowers comes to mind. I emailed them and told them to unsubscribe me from their lists. That hasn't happened.

This coming week I intend to call and snail mail them and others as well. If they continue to contact me it could very well be a lawsuit.

Now back to Walgreen's. If they respond and confirm they have stopped advertising on the Rush show I want them to also PUBLICLY say they are not advertising on ANY political program. NONE!

If they don't my relationship with them is OVER! I will let them know in no uncertain terms what they have done.
