It's a been a small scale guerrilla war for now. The shootings in Tulsa show that the whites have begun to engage.
Look out this summer. A hot summer, high gas and food prices, possible government shutdown over the debt ceiling, war in the mid east, financial meltdown in Europe. Throw in a presidential campaign where the incumbent seems perfectly comfortable orchestrating a racial Götterdämmerung. They'll be lucky to keep the trucks rolling and the interstates open.

Living out in the country, however, is going to be safer for the minority population.
We live in very rural Upstate NY and the minority population (blacks) here has no illusions about what most of black culture in the cities is about. They can’t stand it. And since everyone out here knows everyone else, I think they are likely safer than being the minority within cities. Not *safe* but *safer*.
Many years ago (back in the 60’s) a black co-worker of my father’s told him that if ever there was a race war in the US, it would ultimately be between the blacks and the blacks, not the blacks and the white. Things have changed since then, however.
The whole scenario does leave lots of room for speculation.....
Like how much more ammo I should stock up on.
