In addition to preventing the dead and those who have moved from the state from voting, it would stop two of the three leading ways to commit vote fraud and in Minnesota would make some changes to the third (absentee voting) no one wants to eliminate legitimate absentee voting but some of the states have systems that are rife with fraud, apparently Minnesota is one of those.
MN is also one of only 2 states to allow “vouching” for people...and you can do so for (IIRC) up to 15 people.
IE: “see those 15 people behind me in line? they’re all my neighbors and I vouch for them being legit to vote”
