That is a good question.
I believe I would say, Romney knows he could buy Santorum off in exchange for a job, since Rick would want any debt paid off AND the job. If Romney ignored Newt, I would venture that Romney wants Newt kept in the freezer.
I believe Newt actually ran because he thought he could help navigate the RINOS in DC, to secure a future for the country against Marxists, but never to crawl up the GOP-E legs for a job, or for seeking relevance. That was never his style. His historic record was his relevance.
