Shootings at police cars and ambushes of police were becoming the norm in the late 60s and early 70s in NYC. Quitely, all the perps were eventually taken out. Still it was very unsettling and most police were on guard about those tactics. In fact, one of those found guilty, escaped from NJ prison and is hanging out now in Cuba I believe, Angela Davis?

Anyway, when things get to that level, it is the lighting of a fuse that must be stopped before a full scale race riot begins. Happened before: Watts, Newark, Detroit, and a host of other cities. In those days, the state authorities had the gonads to put them down with ample firepower. Today, probably not so it may come to a full scale battle for the streets for those caucasians unlucky or stupid enough to still be living in those hell holes.

Sanford is not a gun free zone. Neither are the surrounding areas. I would not doubt that everyone has stocked up on ammo for self defense just in case things start.
