Concur. However, an SBR Mini 14 still functions just fine.... At 10.5 inches, with or without a supressor, it still works rather well with a stock diamter gas port, better with it opened a bit. Accuracy? Tha tis another issue which mini14s are not noted for .

Don’t believe everything you read, espc. on a non tech/opinion forum like FR.

I have owned several Mini-14s tho it has been over 20 years since the last one. I really like them, they are about as neat looking rifle as you will see, they handle well etc.

The problem has always been accuracy. Maybe they have improved in the last 20 years but from what people say, it must not be very much. Interestingly the only 2 other .223 type guns I have owned have been unusually good shooters. Both the H-Bar and an H&K SL-6 would shoot better than I could so I know it is not the cartridge or automatic action that is the problem.
