Duluth police and firefighters were called to a home on the 500 block of East Eighth Street just before noon today after a resident shot at one of two men who broke into his house.
According to police, the 48-year-old male homeowner said he fired one
round from his handgun at one of the suspects after seeing something in the intruders hand. The resident was unsure if he hit the suspect.
The suspects fled the home and police didnt know if either suspect was hit by gunfire, or whether they were armed.
The residents wife called 911. Several officers responded and an effort began to track down the intruders with a police dog.
One suspect is described as a black man with medium complexion, 20 to 30 years old, 5-foot-6, 150 pounds, short hair, wearing a dark shirt and blue jeans. The other suspect is described as a black man with medium complexion, 20 to 30 years old, 5-foot-10, 175 pounds, short hair and sideburns, wearing a black shirt and blue jeans.
Firefighter first responders staged at the scene in case they were needed for medical aid, a Fire Department official said, but they were eventually released when it became apparent no one was found who had been shot.
Officers also checked with local hospitals for anyone admitted with a gunshot wound.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the police Violent Crimes Unit at (218) 730-5050.
This article reports the perps as black. That’s shocking!
Sometimes, it is difficult to not profile some type of crime.
This is just terrible.
The homeowner clearly needs more range practice time.
Possible Zimmerman quote, “These ******* always get away.”
“The homeowner clearly needs more range practice time.”
Exactly!
The homeowner clearly needs more range practice time.
My ‘range’ is here at home...makes ‘range practice time’ easier. ‘They’ do not want to come here. I don’t miss.
