the SWASTIKA after it, and what that means

Yeah. It's just some kids trying to be offensive.

Real Nazis? No. Kids trying to provoke a response.

By your outrage, you give them success.

Laugh at them or ignore them and they become powerless.

Engage in outrage? They win. Do you want that?

I probably would have had more sympathy with your view if you simply stated this from the beginning. As it was, it seemed like you were being obstinate by refusing to acknowledge the swastika.

But considering that a parent was involved, it’s hard to lower this to just a “kid trying to be offensive.”

I also sympathize with your comment about “protected” religions but that doesn’t mean we should not speak out against this kind of behavior even if there is a double standard.

As someone who has seen first hand what many “orthodox” Jews really think of Christians and how they view this nation’s purpose, I admit I was tempted to develop bitterness and could almost relate to Luther’s outrage when he learned of what the Talmud taught about Christ. It’s very frustrating when you consider yourself a friend and supporter of Israel to be demeaned by the very “friends” that you are willing to risk your own nation’s sons and daughters for. But then I have to look at the big picture and realize it’s not about me or even them.

That may not even be an issue with you though; I was just providing my own personal experience. As far as your point about the “protected religion”, try not to let the double standard make you lower your own in order to make the point.

After all, what else are we to expect?

“A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. It is enough for the disciple to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign those of his household.

(Matthew 10:24-25 ESV)

“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. But all these things they will do to you on account of my name, because they do not know him who sent me.
(John 15:18-21 ESV)
