Just bought another 550 rounds for my .22 rifle today. I’m now ready for a thousand zombies!

Good point.. 0bama has been chumming the waters looking for an excuse to declare a national emergency, then Martial Law, then suspend the election.. After that it’s anybody’s guess but America at large will probably just text their complaints and head for the refrigerator. While it’s still running, anyway.

Stay away from the Foot Lockers. A free pair of Air Jordans will be “justice for Trayvon”.

"Toxicology results on Martin?: Skittles, Iced Tea and PCP? I’ve read that there was no evidence of Skittles or Tea at the scene."

Maybe the tea & skittles were found during the autopsy.

Goodness are you serious? “New” information is what she’d have to have to charge him because the old information didn’t even meet probably cause. The fact she is saying there is “new” information is an indication that will be the justification why she found probable cause when there was none before she came on board.

Better read the article again. The only one saying there is "new" information is WAPO. The Prosecutor merely states she is going to make an announcement. That could mean anything from dropping the investigation to charges. I am betting there will be no charges since the evidence for a conviction isn't there. No Prosecutor wants to go to trial when they know they will lose.

-- My problem, is that if they HAD the evidence needed to go to trial, they would have already arrested him.Now I fear they might arrest him for pure political expediency, and town safety. --

I used to trust the system to do the right thing, to follow the law. Then I studied FL election law before the Supreme Court of Florida rendered its decision. I was shocked - the highest court had cherry picked the statutes and radically disrupted what could have been an orderly process of settling a close election.

Same sensation in just about any gun case - and recently in Indiana's Castle Doctrine court fisaco.

So, it comes down to Corey's and the state of Florida's commitment to the rule of law. I hope they have it, but I wouldn't bet a nickle they do. Hot cases are decided outside of the law, and then the law is twisted to fit. The state doesn't give a shit about any individual citizen.

The right thing to do is follow the law. The reporting on this case has been upside down from the start. Corey could set it right side up by announcing a finding that Trayvon Martin was in the act of committing aggravated assault when he was killed.

-- But if he's not charged, then there is a whole lot of money to be made by some lawyer suing the pants off of everyone in sight. --

Yes, starting with NBC. But these two lawyers are criminal defense types, not defamation types.

Sadly, you paint the situation precisely as I do. I know of one man who SHOULD be prosecuted...Eric Holder.

Exactly. I damn sure wouldn’t hang around. The fact is, Zimmerman will be under threat for the rest of his natural life if he stays in America. A new name in a new place is the only chance he has of peace in the time God grants him on this planet.

Be ready for anything, particularly if you live in a city.

I believe we've seen the last of civil disagreement in American society.

Ordinarily I'd agree with that except...

1) this is a "special prosecutor". And SP's are always dragging things out to justify their own existance and make a career out of a case, and

2) this case is now political. She'll find some portion of the law that will allow her to bring a charge. And then

3) the lawsuit floodgates will open and we'll be treated to a civil case that will make OJ look like a Sunday picnic.

I certainly hope that Zimmerman is seeking asylum in Peru. He's a marked man.

Why don’t you, people here have been predicting something like this, and advising that you prepare for self defense for as long as I’ve been here, at least.

Hoosiermama, digger48 has a very interesting comment with a link.

Looks as though Martin may indeed have bought skittles/tea but it sure took him a long time to wander back - casing houses for burglury maybe? Getting hight? Something took him longer than normal, unless he stayed someplace out of the rain for a while.

550 .22 rounds? That's not much more than an afternoon's serious target practice. Unless you've already got 5k rounds. You need to be buying 5.56s 500 at a pop.

All Hell will break loose no matter what the AG’s announcement is. They’ll riot if she announces there will be no charges, and if there are charges, they’ll riot just like they do when their team wins some championship. For that reason, she should just announce it and not have a big lead-up to it. Do it when they least expect it so they aren’t already gathered.

Wish I owned a gun and a few cartridges.

Quit dickin' around and get started. Get a good handgun, but also a good long gun, too. At least start by going to a range that will rent you a handgun and give instruction.

A journey of 1,000 miles begins with a single step, little grasshopper.
