Smells Like Pivot: Thomas Edsall and others smell the long-awaitedfeared Pivot on Immigration in this story about Mitt Romney, in which Romney actually seems to seek votes from the “immigrant community” by blaming Obama for not following through on the issue:
“Let the immigrant community not forget that, while he uses this as a political weapon, he has not taken responsibility for fixing the problems we have.”

Illegal immigrants are nothing but government growth hormone and anyone who supports amnesty is a traitor.
We have to retain a House and elect a Senate that won’t approve any of this Dream Act/amnesty for illegals nonsense.
I was disappointed when Lt. Gov. of Mississippi Tate Reeves, who I supported and voted for, endorsed Romney early in the process. Disappointed again when he appointed some democrats to chair some of the comittees in the Republican dominated State Senate and especially Senator Hob Bryan (d). Lt. Gov Reeves then sent the Illegal Immigration enforcement bill to Sen. Bryans committee where Sen Bryan killed it.
This is what we’re to expect from Romney and his minions, the same thing I would expect from the democrats.
The pundits can interpret things all they want. Romney is making the point that the Dems had total control over Congress for two years. They could have passed CIR (read amnesty) in much the same way they passed Obamacare. They didn't.
Now Obama is running around the country blaming the Reps for not doing anything on immigration reform. Hispanic interest groups have not been happy with Obama in this regard. Obama has initiated a backdoor amnesty that is ongoing today. He has sued the states of AZ, AL, and SC for enforcing federal immigration laws.
Romney is reminding the voters, including the 40 million immigrants in this country, 75% of whom are illegal if you believe USG statistics, that Obama is all talk and no action. I don't buy the various scenarios offered by the pundits in this article. However, I am disturbed that Rubio is now talking about a Rep Dream Act and is working with Cornyn and Hutchinson on this legislation. The Dream Act is just another piecemeal amnesty. If the Reps are dumb enough to believe that this will get them the Hispanic vote, then they are truly the Stupid Party.
Through all this campaign season, Romney was ostensibly talking the ‘toughest’ on the amnesty/illegals topic, but we all knew he was lying through his teeth. Because that’s just who he is... a lying SOB. I’ve never encountered a Republican candidate who, on any and every issue, I trust less.
Unfortunately they are—and they are.
Damn.. why doesn’t Obama cast Biden aside and take Romney on as a running mate and convert the election to an up-or-down referendum on a “unity” ticket.

Well, for one, Romney doesn't need a teleprompter to lie to us.
I can’t think of one single issue important to conservatives that we don’t have to concede for Romney.
He is easily the worst candidate the GOP has ever put up.

I still think that Romney will be OK on the issue given his selection of Kris Kobach as his advisor. In order to change things, Congress would have to agree to whatever is done. I doubt that Romney would be suing states that enforce our immigration laws.

Romney would be the more diligent and competent leftwing statist. The asylum would be run by Nurse Ratched instead of Emily Litella.
It looks like Mr. Etch-A-Sketch’s campaign has begun its downward trajectory into becoming one hot mess.
Marco Rubio is not a conservative.
