"It was inevitable.
Mitt Romneys campaign has used a money advantage to shut out the competition. As I said when he won Ohio, Romney will be the nominee".

Not only should that be sobering to anyone who really supports him, but its a clear indicator of his character.
Best case for Romney is that enough conservatives hold their nose tight enough to make it to the polls next November to drag him over the top. That were relegated to such tells us all we need to know about the state of the party, the conservative movement, and the country itself.
And dont anyone try to publish the lie that the conservative movement is alive and well. Its sick and dying and bordering on irrelevancy, just 2 years after one of its finest moments. Its largely been co-opted by moderates and psuedo-conservatives who dont really have a clue what conservatism is, or in some cases (see congress), by those who have a great desire to see it vanish".
He’s won his delegates in Obama strongholds while ignoring or insulting the people in red counties. Obama is going to beat him like an unfaithful muslim goat.
Arguably the single worst candidate the GOP has ever had.
Just curious. Are you saying Romney used his personal wealth to buy the elections? Or are you saying that Romney was able to convince more donors that he was the best candidate than his competitors were?
A conservative, a moderate, and a liberal walk into a bar. The bartender say, "Hi, Mitt!"
Made me laugh - thanks for the mental image!
Arguably the single worst candidate the GOP has ever had.
By some measures, I can agree with this but there are other measures that point to other candidates. My personal evaluation is that Bob Dole should win that title by a whisker over Jerry Ford.
Can you split the faces and connect a real right half of one to the left half of the other?
Maybe I should invest in photo shop after all.
I can’t remember who said it (it was either Ed Rollins or Mike Huckabee) but weeks ago, when Newt was barely alive, I heard this person say Newt should stay in it because Mitt Romney could easily make a gigantic gaffe or otherwise blow it. Look, the Massachusetts Moderate is not known for his eloquence or intelligence. He’s known for his ambition and money. So why shouldn’t Newt keep going until Romney gets the necessary delegates?
The GOP has committed suicide. It happened long ago but now the body stinks. I’m sure I’ll get flamed, but it’s long past time for a second party.
We conservatives face two problems today.
1. We vastly overestimate our numbers.
2. We’ve become whiny little bitches.
I’ll go along with that. I personally favored Santorum but I’ll take Newt any day over Rommney. If Rommney has a center, it’s Rommeny. His pandering is sickening.
What I don’t like about this primary is that many states, ours in CA didn’t even get a chance to state whom we would like to see on the ticket..it was left up to all the others....oh sure we can make a protest vote during the June primary here..but what good is it/NOne.
Now we have to all pull behind Obamalite just to get that jackass out of the WH. Lucky all of us..
We have to hope to god this Romeny beats 0bama and then hope to god we have a house and senate that will hold his feet to the conservative fires.
One good deal after another!/S
If the un-thinkable (to the GOP-E) should happen and Romney does blow up and doesn’t get the nomination and it should go to Newt or some other Conservative, would the Gop-e and the rinos and moderates do what they expect the conservatives to do and come on board with support, money, votes and hard work?
Yep, just like Santorum was saying, once the playing field is level or even tilted against Romney, what are his chances? Romney said the economy is improving. He can’t raise Obamacare despite it’s unpopularity. Romney is even farther out of the mainstream regarding his religion. Throw in his gaffes that highlight his wealth, and he’s the perfect target. Obama may have no talent, but he is lucky.
When Palin declined to run, after going right to the edge, I knew the game was fixed. Obviously the moneybags were closed, the state parties were on Romneys side. Even when Santorum won in Iowa, the news did get out until it had no impact. Witness the raw power of the Establishment. In 2000, when McCain was the more conservative candidate, he was shut out; in 2008, when Romney was the more conservative candidate, he was shut out. After 2010 when the voters moved to the right, the Establishment stayed with him, and during the horse race, everytime a challenger moved up, he/she was blocked out.
Now I’m really confused.
In 0bama vs Romney,
which one is the turd sandwich and which is the giant douche?
No arguments on the bad aspects of Romney, but he’s also winning the swing states....FL, MI, OK, WI, NV, etc. I still think he’s an incredibly flawed candidate and not a conservative, but we need to ignore the facts of this primary season.
