It's the primary process playing out. Conservatives like Palin and DeMint chose not to get in the race. Perry, Bachman, Cain and others were eliminated early on in the voting process. Santorum won conservatives over in Iowa and a couple of other states. Gingrich won them over in South Carolina and had his chance at the rest of the south. It is the voters in this primary who have decided the ultimate outcome.
Yeah. I know. A lot of people don't pay that much attention to what's going on around them. They hear a few propaganda sound bites and take them as gospel truth - because they heard Karl Rove say Romney is the only one who can win!!
There's not much we can do about that. That doesn't mean we have to follow them. They have no idea where they're going.
Disappointing, frustrating and maddening as it is, that is the truth. The field was weak and the notRomney supports didn't unite. On the contrary, many spent the primary trashing each other.
The first constructive step to change this is being honest about how we got here.
