I've noticed that a number of liberal bloggers have managed to interpret Bo's fall as some kind of triumph for the “reformers.” Maybe so. But if this is some kind of internal coup by reformist party members, why the huge effort at censorship? That's hardly reformist, and shows if anything, the weakness of the reformist bloc - if such a thing actually exists.

In China, Bo is their kind of reformist. He champions welfare policy, law & order, and narrowing income gap between the rich and the poor. Maybe liberals did not like “law & order” part. He is credited with sweeping criminals off the Chongqing streets.
