This is so thin that it won’t make it past a judge on a second degree murder charge

Don't be so sure. This will probably go to trial and Z will either be acquitted or win his appeal.

Remember the nimrods on the FL Supreme Court during the Bush v. Gore case? Thoroughly political hacks. So whose to say the the FL trial judge reviewing the affidavit of probable cause won’t be cute from the same cloth?
