I remember when Newt went on Greta early in the campaign and he said it hurt to hear the things people said about him. Now I know he was talking about the people at Fox who were bashing him left and right. They were so vicious on Fox it was shocking. I began to document who said what and when. That is how bad it got. Charles Payne from Fox Business called him a cry baby. Coulter called him crazy. Hume said he had road rage. Megyn Kelly interviewed a panel of people and called on one woman who said Newt is the worst person to represent us. He is an old, fat white guy. (This was directly after Newt took Megyn down a peg in the debates over the judges.) They attacked his tax plan with a liberal organization. They now act shocked that he is calling them out on these things. Too bad. They own what they did. I have names and dates.
Coulter has been viscious in her attacks on Newt as has Imus. Rove tried to sabatoge Gingrich in Iowa..the slams have been outrageous! who in the hell does Coulter think she is to judge Newt on his divorces and go around supporting a candidate that was/is pro abortion? which sins does Fox deem as forgivable?
Good for you for detailing it. I am not a Newt fan but they were not careful and considered regarding Newt’s run at all. I was offended by their blatant unprofessionalism. It is ok for any commentator to feel one way or the other or have a bias, but on a national news channel, it is NOT OK to be outright mean and bashing.
And unless the knife that killed Brit’s son was found, bloodied, in Newt’s hand, he had no call to be on the air discussing him as if it had been so found. (I know the younger Hume was not murdered but took his own life in some kind of gay shame). Recuse yourself if you harbor such bitter feelings toward one candidate for personal reasons. Sheesh. I lost all respect for Hume too.
On each primary election night, CNN is far superior to Fox. They deal more with the actual race, and they are fairly dispassionate about the candidates. And you KNOW they are all liberals and don’t pretend to be otherwise so you don’t mind it as much as the fake fair ones on Fox.
