Hilary Rosen Was Right: Ann Romney Is Out of Touch with Most Women
Time ^ | 4-13-12 | Judith Warner

Posted on 04/13/2012 5:05:10 AM PDT by SJackson

What Republicans and Democrats alike don't understand is that the "mommy wars" are largely a thing of the past

A fierce Twitter firestorm erupted this week after Democratic strategist Hilary Rosen pointedly questioned Ann Romney’s fitness to serve as her husband’s ambassador on women’s economic issues. Noting to CNN’s Anderson Cooper that Romney — a daughter of privilege who became wealthier still while married to Mitt — had “never worked a day in her life,” Rosen voiced the suggestion that she was, perhaps, less than ideally suited for relaying the financial worries and stresses of most American women to her husband’s presidential campaign. “She’s never really dealt with the kinds of economic issues that a majority of the women in this country are facing, in terms of how do we feed our kids, how do we send them to school, and why do we worry about their future,” Rosen said.

Republicans counterattacked, as to be expected. Romney campaign strategist Eric Fehrnstrom denounced a “kill Ann” strategy that “in the process insults hardworking moms.” But what was surprising was that Democrats also engaged in Rosen-bashing:

Democratic strategist David Axelrod called Rosen’s words “inappropriate and offensive.”

Obama campaign manager Jim Messina tweeted: “She should apologize.”

Deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter added on: “Families must be off-limits on campaigns,” she said, “and I personally believe stay-at-home moms work harder than most of us do.”

It was suggested to me yesterday that, based on the speed of the Axelrod/Michelle twitter reactions that this could well have been a set up rather than an accident. A remark offensive only to some, which allowed the administration to take the high ground by criticizing one of their operatives, while opening the issue for their allies in the media.

It was intentional other than than words ‘never worked a day in her liefe’, which will be used to browbeat the democrats for the next six months. The rest was right off the script.

A mother of five, who beat cancer and battled MS is going to be hard to demonize. She is a lot more like a typical suburban voter than the scowling Michelle who does not connect at all with suburban women.

Actually, none of us want Ann out there getting beat up. We want her at home, with her husband.

I much prefer Calista, tart looking painted lady that she is!

Whenever I am in a waiting room and see slime magazine, I manage to put in the TRASH in the men’s room, where it belongs.

I firmly believe this was a set-up.

Someone as high up and connected to the WH does not wildly go off message without clearance.

All of this Hilary Rosen bashing by Obama, Biden, Axelrod, etc. was already planned and is being doen with a wink, wink, nod, nod.

It gives Zero and the Dems the opportunity to appear like knights in shing armor while at the same time using their criticism as a platform to launch into an attack on the
GOP war against women.

It’s another Charlie Brown and Lucy holding the football moment that the GOP never, ever sees coming.

They are laughing their @sses off in the WH over this.

So predictable.

What does a North Korean missile launch and Hilary Roesen's career have in common?

....

Same trajectory.

Sixty-five percent of the public even now believes that preschool children are not likely to suffer if their mothers work outside the home.

Bull crap! I really don't care what the public "believes", because most of the time they're wrong. Indeed, Obozo wouldn't be President if they believed the truth. Like they say, I'd agree with the BS presented in this article, but then we'd both be wrong.

I am “out of touch” with Ann Romney. I know almost nothing about her and don’t want to.
Making her the victim of any attack, just makes people step up to defend her, which leads to sympathy and possibly support of the Romney candidacy.
It’s engineered to help Romney.
Let’s not fall for it.

Media are trying to throw Rosen a lifeline.

Administration have already thrown Rosen under the bus.

[F&F showed a timeline of this ‘crisis’. Within 20 minutes of Rosen’s original comment, Twitter was all a tweet. Within a hour, even the WH was distancing themselves from this disaster.]

this could well have been a set up rather than an accident.

Doubt it. When Carney tried to deflect by saying he personally knows three women named Hilary-with-one-L Rosen, and she (single L Hilary) has visited the White House 35 times, they are in full damage control mode.

One thing thing for sure, Ann Romeny is not a blatant black racist with the personality of a rabid cat.

Yes, and we know that lesbian CommiecRAT Hilary Rosen, $350K per year political earmark Mooshelle, and Judith Warner, the author of this trashy hit piece, are “in touch” with “most women”.

Right.

True Ann is not like most other women she has raised 5 kids while learning she has MS and still is not playing the victim card.

Couldn’t disagree more. Rosen’s guilty because she can’t help it. It’s knee-jerk feminism, and that just doesn’t get bridled & hung up until the campaign’s over. Hillary couldn’t help her “stay home and make cookies” comment either. The snark just oozes out of every pore.

Yup . . .

“His wife has actually never worked a day in her life,” said Hilary Rosen, DNC Advisor

Anyone who is married, children and a brain understands how offensive those words are to their dear wife.

Did anyone notice the apology was ONLY to Ann Romney? Many many women across the land was highly offended, The fact that the libtard that wrote the above article only proves that stupid is as stupid says and does!

I tend to disagree. I this whole crew is given credit for far more intelligence than they actually possess.

If you are in doubt, what has this administration done that has actually worked or was beneficial to the country as a whole?
