WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama and his family paid more than $160,000 in federal taxes last year on earnings of $789,674, the White House said Friday.
The president's 2011 federal income tax return shows that about half of the first family's income is the president's salary. The rest comes from sales of Obama's books.

So after tax they have about $600k to spend on the Wookie’s disgusting designer flocks and boob belts; Wookie vacations; and private school tuition.
Hardly enough to maintain their lifestyle, so I’m now positive that they’re taking us for a bunch of stupid taxpayer crackers!
So let’s see... he’s calling for increased taxes on millionaires and billionaires, right? And a millionaire is anyone making $250k, so a billionaire must be $500k. $750k+ makes them Trillionaires! Off the hook!
They spent at least twice that much on vacations which means the taxpayers really are footing the bill for those lavish retreats.
I would be willing to pay Newt a couple of BILLION dollars to clean up this mess..
Why should he worry about $160,000 in taxes? He’s been on a three year, all expenses paid vacation on the taxpayer. The rest of his money is banked. Enjoy the steak, lobster and fine vacations we provide you, Obama, you are your own dime after November.
