Good points. But, apparently some of those back forming the country came together and gave up all of what they wanted to form a consensus. There is no “giving up what they want” here - they quit the battle.

Sitting out an election just means you sat out - no “teaching anyone a lesson”. Because in fact - no one cares what each of us think.

Politicians want power and will fight however they can to get that power no matter what you and I think. They will make decisions - no matter what you and I think.

So, if FR’s chose to sit out - they sat out. Nobody will be coming to their door begging them to tell them what to do or how to save the country. They sat out and therefore have no part or no say any longer.

But - if I can’t get who I want in there - I will sure be fighting to save as much of my conservative views as possible. I would be an idiot to surrender.

Yup. I saw that. Obama is a puppet of very powerful people.

ABO will not be on the ballot. Romney will. You can only vote for someone. “Against Obama” is not running.

Quite true. We can't let our fear or hatred for Obama change what we will compromise on. The scary thing is you can use the same argument to decide, in a hypothetical scenario, that Obama would be the better choice.

Let's put Mao on the ballot versus Obama. Would someone then say Obama is the lesser of two evils and vote for him? Hugo Chavez vs. Obama? Do you always vote for the lesser of two evils not matter how evil the lesser?

Clearly Romney is not Chavez or Mao, but he still believes in socialism, gun control, a liberal court system, and doesn't' believe in the right to life for the unborn. I won't vote for anyone who doesn't respect the rights of people as laid out in the Constitution and Declaration of Independence. Be they Romney or Obama.

“Please, everyone, ...no matter who you are...please STOP telling people not to vote for the Republican nominee.”

WRONG.

Romney won’t be the Repub nominee.

He’’l be the lib-Dem nominee.

000bama will be the commie nominee.

Unless a 3rd party option opens up, I might not vote for the presidential spot, just for the lower offices.

Those 4 people are politicians, they are party first, they will back the nominee if its Obama himself. The TEA Party has no leaders, it can’t endorse. Most of the TEA Partiers will not support Romney.

Shouldn't they be held to a higher standard then? afterall they ran and spoke out about their conservatism, they had conservatives support them, then they'll turn around and endorse the person they ran and fought against? shouldn't that be worse in your book?

As for the Tea Party? they'll most certainly make endorsements to their local members.

The reality is that we either vote for BO or Romney. That’s the reality

That's the reality the media/Obam/Romney have fed it's "audiance".....when there remains a viable conservative candidate to vote for...Newt.

Each and everyone of you voting for Romney when Newt remains a candidate have swallowed the pill they gave you. Did anybody other than the media and Romney say the primary race was over? Has he passed the finish line with the delegates he needs ..no...yet you so called conservatives have pre-maturely thrown in the towel....you should be ashamed....and further attemtpting to promote the medias candidate here.!!!!!

Newt is still running....but then you've made your choice to cross the line to liberalism...so be it!

Your choice is Obamney or Obamney. I prefer cheering on Gingrich and denying Obamney 1144. You seem stuck on defeatism.

First off you are insane if you think Gingrich can get enough votes to deny Romney the 1144.

Secondly the groupthink, groupspeak the of the group here saying some of the stuff you are saying remind me of lemmings all running off the cliff together thinking they are doing something worthwhile.

Thirdly you are in total denial of the reality of the situation and I for one don't intend to follow you over the cliff.

Romney is toast. He is a leftist and can’t get conservatives on board. The left and MSM will create a public image of a Wall Street villain. (even though Obama will get/is getting most Wall Street dollars)

By the time the left gets done with him he might lose this election worst than Mondale.

Think about that, the GOPe has handed this election to the worst President in history. The worst economy since the Great Depression and the GOPe designates a loser. Why? Why does the elite want to lose this election?

The only reason I can think of, is that they actually support many of the things Obama is doing. They obviously support ObamaCare if they chose Romney. I think the only reason that makes any sense is that they WANT to destroy the conservative movement and TEA Party by trying to force them to support and vote for someone they despise and who loathes them.

They are co-opting the conservative movement. If the conservative movement supports Romney the movement has lost all meaning, they will have crippled it for good.

Nobody here is talking about voting for Romney over Newt. Many primaries have already come and gone - I didn’t vote for Romney in the primary.

The argument is about Romney against Obama, not Romney against Newt.

It's amazing, caww, how many so-called conservative Republican quislings we have posting on FreeRepublic. Combined with the RomneyBots who have been dispatched by Willard and the GOP-e it's quite a spectacle.

Antonin Scalia, Anthony Kennedy and Ruth Buzzi Ginsburg will each turn 80 during the next Presidential term. Stephen Breyer will turn 78.

If Obama is re-elected, it is an absolute certainty that he will fill any vacancies with another far left-wing liberal hack like Sonia Sotomayor or Elana Kagan. If Romney is elected, about the best we can hope for is another moderate liberal like John Paul Stevens, Sandra Day O'Connor or David Souter.

If either Obama or Romney gets to replace Ginsburg or Breyer, it will mean that a liberal will continue to hold the seat for another 30 years. Disturbing to be sure, but replacing an old liberal with a young liberal will not change the current balance of the Court (but it will cement the liberals in place for another generation).

If Obama or Romney gets to replace Scalia or Kennedy, however, it will mean that a far left-wing liberal majority will be legislating from the bench for the next 30 years. That is truly scary.

Our only hope is that the Republicans retake the Senate AND that they will man up and Bork any liberal nominees coming from either Obama or Romney. That is a very, very slim hope at best.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

I’ve reached my own decision and pray that others will not be intimidated, grow tired and surrender.

God bless and Keep you, my dear, kind and thoughtful friend.

The examples you listed are pitch perfect, so I am pinging some close friends whom I know will appreciate and value your words of wisdom and knowledge.

This is no time to "go wobbly" as Prime Minister Lady Thatcher once said.

We will keep praying and put our trust in Him while taking our own stand on our principles that we know are right.

Gingrich: I’ll support Mitt Romney if he becomes the nominee

“I think you have to be realistic, given the size of his organization, given the number of primaries he’s won, he is far and away the most likely Republican nominee,” Gingrich said …

“If he does get to 1,144 delegates, I’ll support him and I’ll do everything I can this fall to help him defeat Obama because the primary goal of the entire Republican party has to be to defeat Barack Obama,” he said.

“This makes this maybe the most important election of our lifetime.”

It would seem the enemy has made it into the camps here at home...or gone MIA....appallingly what conservatives are doing now...layed down their arms and walked willingly into the enemies camp...and now out here trying to get us to do the same. Absolutely mind-boggling!!!

No...they are politicians and or endorsers. They simply go with the flow. We are the voters.

So people, who love the Country and realize what's at stake, who choose to vote for the nominee are idiots, whereas the people who didn't endorse the eventual nominee (if it's Romney) who ran against that nominee, they aren't idiots? or are held to the same standard?

You guys can keep whining and pushing your fear tactics and insults until hell freezes over. You will not faze me. I’ve stated 10,000,000 times on this site, even have it posted on our front page and at the top of the main forum pages that FR is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Liberty site. That will not change.

I absolutely will not vote for or support a man who proclaimed that abortion should be safe and legal in America and that Roe v Wade should be preserved and sustained as settled law then proved it by introducing $50 taxpayer funded abortion.

I will not vote for the man who proclaimed that he would be better for gay rights than Ted Kennedy then proved it by implementing homosexual marriage and who still today says that he supports homosexuals in the military.

I will not vote for the man who proclaimed that he would not chip away at tough gun control laws and then went on to impose some of his own.

I will not vote for the man who proclaimed his support for amnesty and man made global warming.

I will not vote for the man who proclaimed his support for TARP, bailouts, stimulus and promises more of the same is necessary.

I will not vote for the man who fathered RomneyCare which morphed into ObamaCare complete with taxpayer funded abortion, mandates, planned parenthood participation, death panels and stiff penalties on citizens who refuse to bend to tyrants.

I will not vote for the man who appointed a solid wall of liberal activist judges.

I will not vote for the man who even now knowing the damage he caused with RomneyCare still promotes it, calls it a “conservative solution” and has set up the beginnings of a national healthcare task force (ask Pam Bondi http://www.freerepublic.com/tag/bondi/index?tab=articles ) to impose such socialist compulsory, mandated programs onto all 50 states. Claiming denying basic freedom of choice in personal financial matters to citizens is perfectly constitutional (and conservative) if done at the state level.

This man is a liar, a progressive and a petty tyrant in waiting.

Resistance to tyrants is obedience to God.

We are the resistance!!

I bow to no king but Jesus. I bow to no tyrant!!

FUBO!! FUKR!! FUMR!!
