Actually the cash should have been spread around the night before to hotel staff to keep things off of paperwork.

Failing all that he could then have tried this with the DC HQ travel voucher clerk...”That RON was really crowded, short rooms, double bookings, all mixed up. Anyhow one of the military commo guys had to stay in my room, never met him before...forget his name...don’t know if he was advance team or embassy or what...didn’t talk to him cause I fell asleep so soon.. guess the hotel charged us for it. “

Unfortunately, it sounds like the agent made a big stink about it- the old Ugly American scenario. “I’m with the President of the United States’ advance team. We’re spending hundreds of thousands of dollars down here. I suggest you make this charge disappear or I’m gonna have a chat with your manager etc etc....”
