To Newt Gingrich haters (vanity)

Newt wrote a book called “Rediscovering God in America,” based on religion and our founding fathers. I haven’t read it but do intend to do so and he has produced some religious films via his production company.
Newt needs money, fair coverage and a few more debates with Romney. Will he get it? I doubt Romney will debate him again and I doubt Fox will be fair. WE have to be the ones to get the word out.

Chronology is fine. Newt wanted to get a quick divorce from Marianne in 1994, but she would not give him a divorce, seeing that he was on a track to becoming a Speaker, 3rd most important position in the government and realizing the income potential of being his "wife".

It wasn't a good time for Newt to have a "scandalous" long drawn-out divorce proceedings (which he should have finalized long before, but the "bad, mean Newt" was financially supporting her all through these years, regardless of separation, including having much of his income from books and lectures being in the bank accounts in her name). No good deed goes unpunished.

He found her a cushy job in D.C., they "reconciled" and she was basically a "political function wife" for events and appearances, until that time when he could get divorced from Marianne ("ex-wife-to-be") and get married to Callista ("wife-in-waiting"). During that period (c. 1995) she actually threatened him of "destroying his career with one interview" (great "wife" eh?)

Not the ideal situation, of course, but in the period of 1994-1998 he didn't have time for divorce, the situation that his long-estranged "wife" Marianne decided to exploit... When Newt said few years ago (after meeting with James Dobson) that he "made mistakes in his personal life because of his love for the country," he wasn't kidding. It cost him during the divorce, too, Marianne squeezed just about everything she could from that "marriage".

The "opportunity" to become finally free of gold-digging Marianne presented itself after 1998 elections, when everybody on the right and the left decided to blame him and his push for Clinton's impeachment for the loss of some House seats. He resigned from the House in 1999, filed and finalized the divorce from Marianne, moved to VA and married Callista.

You’re probably right. Most of the Santorum’s supporters (except a few) are shilling now for Mitt - the “lesser” of two evils.

The post #122 explains why - Marianne wouldn't give him a quick divorce and exploited his time demands (the Contract With America, welfare reform and balancing the budgets while having to fight 84 bogus ethics charges filed by the Democrats and not contested by the Republicans on the ethics committee, and later, the impeachment of William Jefferson Clinton) by threatening a "scandal."

It was a way for him, at least temporarily, to get on with all the things he needed to do as the Speaker with the new majority in the House. It was not the best course of action for him, personally, but it was the best he could do for the country.

We could go through this thread, post by post and name each and every one of those traitorous pretened to be Santorum supporters, ALWAYS was Mitt Romney supporters by screen name.

Every one of them were always Romney supporters. To say otherwise would be a lie.

We Newt supporters never hated Santorum, and if Newt had dropped out we would all put our support to Santorum, not that we would like it, but we had to.

But not them, loyalty to conservatism and ABR, was not/is not one of their virtues. For them not to support NEWT at this point, proves my point. LIARS all and members of the well oiled and greasy Mitt Romney campaign, exposed.

An acquaintance of mine in the campaign, said that the Romney campaign won't address Newt because that would be treating him as a genuine, still viable, contender. Instead, they are directing Mitt's supporters to attack Newt over the net, and anywhere they can. And he told me this today. Looks like THE Mittbots got the message. Mitt thought he was finished with Newt - what's that saying - take a shot at the king - you better be sure it does the job.

As per norm, you are right. The campaign is shifting, and so are the volunteers - collecting stuff and putting together an approach - wasting no more time debating sancto's supporters, or Mitt lovers, Just pushing Gingrich and his qualifications, experience, strengths to the forefront of every discussion...

they are hoping to have this in full swing by midweek... a lot of it is going to include encouragement, motivation, alot of people are very downhearted...

Delaware and NC are pretty much ground zero... DE only has 3 counties, 2 of them rural. He is working very hard there, and needs all the help he can get...

If you are the kind of person who can make phone calls those are going to be very important...
