North Carolina:

RCP Average [old poll] 3/16 - 4/7 -- Romney 30.3 Santorum 29.7 Gingrich 15.7 Paul 12.0 Romney +0.6

Newt Gingrich is going after unpledged delegates - that haven't committed in primaries - including upcoming PA (72), and already completed MT (26) and (IL (69) delegates, since these delegates remain unpledged regardless of primary vote.

AND though there are going to be some “winner take all” primaries, the following contests are also on the schedule:

RI (16) proportional
NY (92) proportional
WVA (28) proportional -- elect delegates (who list their presidential pick on ballot)
NC (52) proportional
OR (25) proportional
AK (33) proportional
KY (42) proportional
TX (155) proportional
CA (169) proportional (by district)
NM (20) proportional
SD (25) proportional

The Green Papers

There there are the Contested delegates: …. “delegates have to be "uncontested" in order to count. The frontrunner's rivals argue some of the states that awarded Romney all of their delegates violated Republican National Committee rules when they moved their contests ahead of April 1 and therefore should distribute delegates proportionally. This dispute, if it continues, would not be ruled on until the August convention in Tampa.

"All the media counts right now give him all of Florida, which is against the rules, all of Arizona, which is against the rules, and all of Idaho," Gingrich said Monday. "Those are all three proportional states and they should only be counting his share. So he has to win 1,144 uncontested delegates."

FL: 50 delegates
ID: 32 delegates
AZ: 29 delegates

The Mainstream Media (MSM) and the RINOstream Media (RSM) like Fox News and the radio talk shows are all lined up behind the Obama versus Romney fight.

They don’t do my thinking for me or tell me who to vote for.

The numbers are NOT with Mitt

Mitt Romney must win over 60% of all remaining hard delegates to secure the GOP nomination. Surprised?

19 states still need to be heard from, and of those states 869 hard delegates are available at the state and district level (discounting the 37 total delegates available between Indiana and Arkansas, which have proportionality rules only a democrat could love). State and committee GOP delegates number about 69, which I’m throwing into my calculations as a given for Romney.

Nevertheless, Romney still needs 663 delegates to reach that magic 1144 number.

Can he do it?

Of the 11,280,792 votes cast so far, Romney has accumulated 4,595,908 or only about 41%. Typically, Romney does not garner more than an average of 44% of the vote. Santorum averaged about 25% of the vote. Even if half of Santorum’s supporters vote for Mitt, this still does not give him the necessary 60+ % to secure the GOP nomination.

Thank you for the information.

It also looks like the base didn’t get the message that we have our nominee.

“At least we can hope, expect, nay, demand, the Republicans in Congress fight the socialist of the other party more than they would fight the socialist of the GOP.”

I hadn’t really thought of it that way, but your post raised a question in my mind. Do you thinks it is possible that if Romney won the nomination, he might tack left, deliberately causing the conservative voter turnout to be suppressed thereby gaining disaffected Democrats to vote for him, but also causing the democrats to retake the congress?

Nah, that’s tinfoil hat territory... Isn’t it?

LOL, well Colorado is going to put this race into a whole new ball game. The establishment is already fuming because Newt is still in and he is also taking votes from Romney.
To early to wave the white flag. The fight goes on

Do you think the reality of what your graphic illustrated could actually sink in before the convention? Perhaps that is why they are trying so desperately to close the deal four months before the convention!

FOX news has totally frozen out Newt. The other day Carl Cameron was talking about how Santorum and Newt were still talking about how to defeat BO. He then told details about what Santorum said and never mentioned Newt. I know my description is not very good, but it was a blatant diss of Newt. I of course, was waiting to hear what Newt had said and it was not mentioned. Turned it off after that.

We need to get behind Newt and actually fight for the US and her Constitution!
