Nope.
They were a bunch of murdering thugs that many regular British soldiers, officers and generals despised. Montgomery called them the dregs of the earth.
And they would be absolutely correct about that, since they were a bunch of murdering thugs who were sent to Ireland and paid regular soldiers' wages by the British Government.
Michael Collins fought these murderous thugs and so his memory is rightly honored, and his exploits are rightly celebrated.
By the way, Winston Churchill does not share your low opinion of the great Collins:
