Shortly after Katrina hit there were videos all over the internet showing New Orleans police collecting guns from people in their homes.

In the case that I remember, a big, burly, black policeman was collecting a gun from a 72-year-old white lady.

You can probably find some of the videos on You Tube.

Those Katrina videos also showed bodyguards making clear, with very little comment or movement, that to disarm them would be devastating to the confiscation crew. They were left alone.

Ever notice that none of those disarmed shot back?
Or that the confiscations came to a fast halt when certain police departments found out?
